I disagree with this take wholeheartedly.Michigan State has talented kids in the trenches and cooled off an awful lot of NFL draft stocks today.

Coleman, Randolph, Adams and Crisler were all yiiiiiiiiiiiiikes today, and while Newton was our only effective pass rusher they moved him wherever they wanted in the run game.I disagree with this take wholeheartedly.
That’s more what I was thinking. They certainly had bad games, but one isn’t going to cool off the nfl scouts. I think we’re more likely to see some of the “award talk” take a little bit of a backseat after this week. It's one game, you don't overreact because NFL scouts certainly won't, but it's not the kind of performance we'd gotten used to seeing from those guys.
The wind was that brutal.I unfortunately didn't go today with my son, flu. Is it true we have ball 3x in 20yd line and went for it instead of kicking field goal? Was the wind that brutal that a 30 yard field go was not a option 3x?
I watched a kid who is approximately 1000x better than our kicker(s) miss from the PAT hash and 31 with the wind, so maybe. Couldn’t believe how bad our special teams were today, we couldn’t catch the ball, and we didn’t even reach the end zone in KOs with the wind.I unfortunately didn't go today with my son, flu. Chase did cause 2 fumbles. He’s awesome but this was not his best day. Someone needed to step up in a big way. Reggie almost did but fell short of the first down marker.I know the wind was a factor but MSU could throw. Chase did his part
Yes this on point. I think the media is overplaying this as well. Hyped them up too soon. It’s only Bielema’s 2nd year. Even though continuing the conversation about them being a possible CFP team would’ve been nice, it’s just not that realistic right now for this team. Getting to a bowl game is more of what I was expecting out of them this year.7-2 in year two of the Bielema regime is way ahead of schedule. does anyone think Illinois played well last week? At some point the D was going to give up more than single digits and some of the lackadaisical offensive play and bad special teams was going to catch up. If I’m remembering correctly they haven‘t played let alone beaten a ranked team yet so we were probably getting over our skis a bit as fans. There is still a lot that can be accomplished this season.
The media overhyped them. They just aren’t ready for it yet. Still a good team though. We just saw a different team today than we saw the last 6 weeks. I have confidence in Bielema.I stupidly allowed myself to get caught up in the media hype. Sadly, I think some of our players got caught up in it also. This loss hurts so bad, but I will always bleed orange and blue.
That being said, Mel Tucker is disgusting, and I'm sad that he's the face of a Big Ten program. His immediate comments following the game last week showed a complete lack of intelligence. And the gamesmanship on defense today with players taking a knee and coming right back in the game......there's no place in our game for this. #lackofinstitutionalcontrol
Can’t believe them gave him a “do over“on that penalty declination. Refs admitted they blew that.I stupidly allowed myself to get caught up in the media hype. Sadly, I think some of our players got caught up in it also. This loss hurts so bad, but I will always bleed orange and blue.

And when we finally ran McCray it was mid fieldish...0/4 on 4th down and can’t score when we are in the red zone. Not a recipe for success
Bret or Barry, if either of you are ever on this board, try McCray on the goal line. I was yelling at my TV, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. It's easy to overthink things sometimes, but just give it a try. We had a drive this game, and a drive at Indiana, that I feel cost us both games. I know McCray wasn't available at Indiana, but he was available today. Just like at Indiana, 10 things had to go wrong today for us to lose, and I feel like all 10 happened. And when we finally ran McCray it was mid fieldish...
Should have been in on the 1st series at the goal line....
My thoughts exactly.I didn’t have a good feeling about this game coming into it. The weather, MSU coming off a brutal game against Michigan and the line that Vegas gave us made us an overwhelmingly big favorite so it’s like we already had a bullseye on our backs before coming into it. Games like this happen. I know I wasn’t very positive during the game and there may have been a reason for it. Let’s just come back next week and win! We can still win the West.
