JMO — obviously you’d like to win all games, but if we can go 3-1 the next four, I’d be extremely elated. Agree the West Coast games will be tough, and I think every remaining game other than Maryland and Oregon should present a unique challenge.

We can play the “we’re a better team” argument — but truth is almost all teams are capable. Michigan almost lost to Penn State for crying out loud. To be 11-2 right now, with TWO top5 wins and only ONE road loss is a heck of an accomplishment.

As one poster pointed out — could genuinely make the argument that the lone difference in the standings is the ref crews assigned in East Lansing.
Outstanding post!

you know what ??............I'll say what any reasonable BB fan said after watching the game last night..........

1. screw tom izzo....................complete embarrassment as a coach and a human being..........he has hid scandal after scandal that his basketball players have committed.............he looked the other way on that trainer misconduct......his constant crying and whining on the sidelines is tired and needs to be addressed by the B$G.....good luck with that ever happening...............

2. screw jeremy fears.........he is a little b**ch who is the dirtiest player since grayson allen...............someone needs to give him some payback with his own dirty tactics......let fears get tripped numerous times , get his gonads kicked repeatedly and get clobbered in the back of his head like he has done all season long.........him getting praise for his behavior is repulsive and obscene........

3. screw the inmates of the breslin detention center...........they are nut jobs with little hope of escaping the terrible state of scumland and doing anything positive with their inbred lives................

4. screw every B$G ref..............every last one of them...............from d j bald head ref all the way down to the newest refs this year......they call games with such ineptness that when the Dance starts the B$G players have little clue how to play with non B$G refs doing a game.............

I wish I could post a /s at the end of this post but doing that would NOT be the pruman91 way of saying how I feel and what I saw last night..........it really really wouldn't......................

hope this post doesn't get me in trouble , but dammit I just felt this needed to be said............it's time criminals and dirty players need to be held accountable for their misconduct , not praised..........................

JMHO.................

Why not go 4-0 in the next four? We're better, way better than all 4 of those teams.
I think the point is if we do drop one of them, we’re still firmly in the title race as long as Purdue beats Fichigan.

It’s not outrageous that we drop (at least) one of the 4, in fact likely. Those are good teams, and IMHO, Wisconsin is the hardest since we won’t have Boswell and their guards are extremely talented.

Also, those that are of this mindset should consider the fact that Michigan State went 17-3 last year, and TWO of the three losses were to UCLA and USC (one was a 7seed, the other missed the tournament).

Those west coast games aren’t as easy as they seem.

I would rather not rely on another team to help us in the title race. I’d much rather win the games we should.

Please stop hyping up Wisconsin. They had one out of body experience beating Michigan but they haven’t come close to that since that game. They don’t defend nor rebound well. They lost to the two best teams they played since that game (IU and USC) and the best teams they beat is a mediocre Ohio State team. We have guards, centers and forwards that extremely talented. I’ll take my chances relying on those players over their guards.

What MSU did it last year doesn’t mean anything to me. That was last year.

He's gonna end some kid's career if he keeps pulling this stuff, and Izzo is just out here praising him, the broadcast is interviewing him like he's some hero, it's disgusting.
Yes, and hopefully the Illini escaped without a lasting injury to anyone.

My point was you'd prefer to go 4-0. But even if we drop one and it's 3-1, it's still a very successful run.

Sorry, I'm just not a fan of penciling in auto-wins against quality opponents. And yes, they are quality opponents -- all four teams are projected to make the tournament.
Next month Brad will need his ballers to go 6-0 against six actual tourney teams. And if all 6 games are truly on neutral courts, I expect to see a national champ!

Unbelievable quote from Izam (misspelled on purpose matching his mispronunciation of every opposing player)

“If he breathes on somebody now, there’s going to be a call,” Izzo said

hilarious quote when you consider there are 2-3 clips form yesterday of blatant trips, pulling, etc that went uncalled

dude wouldve fouled out in regulation if that crap was true

I know this is farfetched, but, what would have been the result of Mirk, after being purposely tripped, getting to his feet and getting into a fist fight with Fears. Is it possible that both players get ejected. Such a result would surely have benefitted us. I mean, not dealing with Fears' numerous instances of dirty play prior to a fist fight on national television would make the powers that be look pretty bad. Hell, the kid we had a few years ago who stepped on the Purdue player got a two game suspension. I think that if Fears' dirty play continues that sooner or later he will be dealt with by a player.

Fears is a sneaky dirty player not a guy who's going to throw a punch in a face to face fight. Mirk would have been kicked out and they would have beat our 6 man rotation like a drum. I don't really follow all the dirty players but he reminds me of Chris Paul.

The more I see the feers play, the more it piss3s me off. What in the world are the refs seeing? It is quite obvious that he was in a natural landing position, then completely shifted and stuck his leg out to trip Mirk.

Utter garbage play from a complete garbage player. Can't wait to meet them in the BTT.
My honest opinion is that Izzo’s tantrum was the reason for it not being a flagrant. When they go to take a look at the scores table, we can see an insane outburst from Izzo, right in the face of the official. There’s several comments in the game thread wondering why he was so mad when the officials sided with him.

Such trash program with trash officials.

Replay shows Wagler getting absolutely HAMMERED by Jordan Scott of MSU on a layup attempt -- no call.

To me personally, this was the worst no-call of the entire game because it results in a 4pt swing, as MSU immediately comes down and gets a rebounding foul on Mirk and converts 2 FTs. Was it a foul? Probably yes (not a great angle, didn't see a replay). But don't think it warrants a whistle if the one on Keaton didn't seconds ago.
There’s literally two fouls here:

And to me it just shows he knows Fears is playing dirty and is trying to protect him and all his talk about not tolerating dirty play is hogwash.

If I know my guy has a propensity to make dirty plays, I’m fine with the officials taking a look and if they see something dirty he deserves to be punished.

The most outrageous thing to me is all the MSU fans defending Fears saying the trip was just a normal basketball play.

If Keaton was out there doing the same stuff, I would not be able to defend it. I could maybe compartmentalize and celebrate his play while ignoring the antics. But I don't know how any decent human with eyes and a brain could defend it.

And the worst part is, he's such a small, scared little piss ant that he has to try to assault you when you're not looking. At least a guy like Edey had the decency to look you in the eye when he elbowed you in the face.

Even more outrageous shall be the fact that the guys assigned to officiate the games agree with them.

My hope is that while Brad didn’t publicly say that play was dirty, he does exactly what Izzo wanted May to do. Call him directly and say that was dirty and you know it, deal with it. Then send it to the league as well. Surely the league has seen this all and is tracking it, but put a little pressure on them.

Guys, it is very simple. All this talk of officials being scared/intimidated/enamored with Izzo.....it's all moot. The league has, and always has, put its thumb on the scale of these marquee matchups year in and year out. They need to keep MSU up top of the standings to create drama within the league race and keep as many B10 teams in the spotlight as they can. Thusly, generating as much interest (read: $$$$$) for the B10 tournament as possible.

Again, been doing it for years. And, as a result, it ultimately harms the truly elite conference teams come tourney time. No champion in the past 25 years speaks volumes.
