That's because in the BIG this year the home team has won over 70% of the time. To prove you are a legitimate contender in the tournament, you have to win these type of games... not collapse at the end of games.
Like I said...not a bad loss on paper. I agree, they have to figure some things out by March though.

After this many years of watching, it’s clear Underwood is never wrong and we know nothing. I really like him but he’s stubborn to a fault. The interesting thing is, when he actually does alter schemes and make adjustments they work. It’s the dead horse beating that gets us in trouble.

And how does Hamer have that much responsibility?

Seems like it reflects a desire to have experienced mature heads in there, but that's not what we got from our seniors today.

This group normally handles road environments better than that.
Ty and Goode are both same year, yet Goode played the entire 2nd half, got abused on defense and then fouled out. It was not about "seniors". The oldest guy on the team, Quincy, sat out with Ty.

Xs and Os aside, we look like a team that is absolutely emotionally drained. Think the TSJ stuff took more of a toll (and is still) than we realize.

Maybe I’m oversimplifying things, but we don’t look like a team that’s having fun right now. Totally opposite of what I saw before TJ went out.

Can’t base everything on feeling, but this certainly feels like a team primed for an upset to a scrappy, less talented 11-12 seed…
Plus, if you look and players minutes on the season. Our bench and player management has been poor. We are playing 7 deep. Cohawk was completely gassed and instead of substituting. Brad called timeout. Cohawk stayed on the court. Was useless last 8 minutes.

Trending towards another 5 seed this year…rough loss.
I would agree. I think a #3 seed will be a stretch. We have a lot of road games coming up and some tough ones at that. Wisconsin, MD, Penn State and Iowa will not be easy W's. I would be really happy with 2-2 on those road games. Let's hope we don't suffer the same fate as Wisconsin as of late.

Brad's record against Quad 1 teams is starting to become pretty concerning. The fact that he couldn't admit that he messed up sitting Rodgers so much in lieu of Harmon and Goode (who both played terrible) is unacceptable.

Also. I just knew Goode would miss the front end of that 1 and 1. I always wonder how a 3pt shooter is so bad at the stripe
This is why he is in at the end of games ahead of Ty, bc of free throw shooting. Gotta knock em down dude!!

And he'd be right. None of that assessment is incorrect. All of that is 100% in the players control.
And if DGL, Dain, and Moretti are in there losing the game when steadier options are on the bench with fouls to give? Do we blame them just the same?

Yeah, players need to make plays. Coaches need to make substitutions. Calling timeouts can help with that.

Brad, I’m gonna need you to elaborate and maybe think about the fact that you're just wrong on this one. And you've done this in multiple games this season, including two we shouldn't have lost.
I don’t disagree…

(In the absence of an actual min. tally) Ty has played much less since Purdue…when many on this board were arguing quite the other way. Lol

Goode is a year older than Ty, but yeah, to me Ty's ability to thrive in chaos was what the moment called for there and Goode clearly had an MSU target on his back defensively.

And if anything BU tends to opt for too little shooting rather than too much. A weird one. The lack of Guerrier maybe even weirder.

Goode over Ty was madness. Threw that game away massively, that cannot happen. If we want ANY chance at a 3 seed, we have to win the rest of our games this month

From a player point of view... to lose like that is just plain EMBARASSING. Smirks and smiles at your expense and lost respect.
