Mitchell raised his arm up which forced Kofi’s hand into his face and then flopped. Typical Clownzo ball.Mitchell is still laughing about his flop
We have talent...and dont need to be "1 man show".We are way overrated, 1 man show
What a joke, I'm tired of reading about how good we are, prove it 1 freaking time
Yeah once tillmon fouled out I was hoping they would feed Kofi moreApologies, haven't read any posts yet, but he had a great game but Ayo messed up 3 late possessions. They didn't get into possessions quickly, didn't utilize Kofi over these possessions, Ayo dominant. He kept us close but tonight wasn't his night to close.
BullHorrendous officiating but this thread is even worse. This is still a top ten team. Everyone relax.
From what I watched, yes I am serious. It doesn't mean he isn't a great player, or he isn't capable...it means during this game, down the stretch, in the final 3 minutes, he was terrible. How would you define his play down the stretch?
I see it happening with this team. And we don't have that many flaws.I just don’t see it happening with this team. Too many flaws to correct.
Officiating sucked, for both sides but when you make 17/28 on FTs you really only have yourself to blame.
Our offense towards the end was "Ball screen for Ayo and get the eff out of the way". Kid is a star, yes but I would have loved to see Curbelo with the ball in his hands for a possession there.
Underwood couldn't have drawn up that final shot. If he really called a play that had Ayo attempting an off balance 3 looking for a call, then I'm baffled. Just extremely baffled that any coach would draw up that kind of play in any situation.
Ayo needed someone to step up and help him win the game at the end, but nobody did. I'm sure this game toughens this team up but I'd much rather have won this one and taken the lesson against Minnesota or something. This is a bummer.
If “down the stretch” means the last 3 possessions in your mind, then you’re just not giving him enough credit. We were dead, no energy, down 13 and he willed us back into the game. I think the last 10 minutes “down the stretch” he played great and didn’t get much help. Guess it depends how you define that.
That doesn't mean they called a good game2 of those refs, Olgesby and Wymer, are FF refs.
Flaws? You mean fts and tos, maybe rebs? I think we can clean that up easily, we good! That was a more positive post than most of yours, appreciated. Remember we're only 6 games in, I'd like to see where we are after 20 before guessing.Illinois is a very good team, but not Final 4 caliber unfortunately. Just too many flaws. If I had to guess id say they end up as a 4 or 5 seed and ultimately lose in the sweet 16. Still like the direction the program is heading and hope for more solid recruiting classes in the coming years.
I see plenty of individual flaws, but the team still seems to trust and distribute. I don't see a lot of team flaws, which means two things:I just don’t see it happening with this team. Too many flaws to correct.
