If the Guardians go back to being Indians (must have Chief Wahoo as logo), then I will root for them again. Maybe.

As much as I don’t like the Dodgers, it was kind of nice to their SPs throw 17 innings in first two games — and to see Brewers losing.

Rooting for Seattle in other series. I’ve always kind of liked them. Franchise reminds me of Cubs prior to us winning WS — some bad teams but also some good teams that fell short. They have a pretty solid lineup and good D. Key will be Woo and how he performs coming back from injury. Tentatively scheduled for game 5 if needed. If not, could potentially go 3 games in WS.

Toronto’s big bats came alive last night big time. Shane Bieber had a pretty good start. I believe he has a player option for next year. If he opts out, he would be a good target for Cubs.

I get a kick out of the uproar about Milw and the L flag. Not sure why it is all that different than using the W flag to show you beat someone. You want to do that, you open yourself to the Brewers’ response. Don’t like it, then win. Did one expect Milw to celebrate like this?
The difference is celebrating a win as opposed to celebrating that somebody lost.
It's Ok if the Cubs won and they took a team picture hanging Bernie the Brewer in effigy?

You do realize by definition if someone won that someone lost right? They were trolling the Cubs. Big deal. And I don’t think hanging a mascot in effigy is the same thing. The equivalent would be if Brewers had handed out a bunch of rally towels that game and Cubs won, the players celebrating while waving those. Or an opponent having a rally hat or home run heavy chain (or whatever teams use now) and using a facsimile in your celebration of winning a playoff series. Wouldn’t have a problem with any of those. Some good, old fashioned trolling. Don’t like it? Beat them next time. Sorry, but I find getting worked up over things like that pretty darn silly.

Ohtani had possibly/probably the greatest game in playoff history, and that should be celebrated, regardless of what your favorite team is, imho:

Really? Strikes out the side in the top of the first, then homers in the bottom.
Shuts them out a couple more innings, the comes up again in the fourth and hits a homer OUT OF THE PARK in center field.
A bunch more strikeouts, keeping the shutout going and then - another homer in the seventh - really?
Amazing. Kudos to Ohtani.

I just think trolling should be left to the fans. Show some respect to your opponent after you beat them.
We'll agree to disagree.

I might agree with you if the W flag was only used on the flagpole and by fans in the stands, but I seem to remember the Cubs’ mascot running around the field waving the W after games. Organization brings it on the field to celebrate and it’s fair game as far as I’m concerned. It is a rivalry after all. I’m just glad Cubs are good enough to have a rivalry that matters.

I guess the next time Clark digs into the box, the Brewers should knock him back with a high and inside heater.

Obviously when one team (or player in individual sports) wins, the other side must lose; however, that doesn't mean celebrating one's own win is the same as celebrating the other side's loss.

I do agree that it's not a big deal to the Cubs and us, Cubs fans, because ultimately it's on the Cubs to avoid this by simply winning and dominating as they should being the bigger organization that they are.

HOWEVER, that doesn't change the fact that it is pathetic for the Brewers and their fans to be (seemingly) more focused on the Cubs losing than their own team winning. It shows a huge inferiority complex, and that they are only driven by the desire to screw the Cubs rather than to actually win, and it shows, year after year, as they get embarrassed in the playoffs whenever they are not playing the Cubs or when their games don't have effects on the Cubs. It's the same mind set as the White Sox.

I can tell that I, as Cubs fans, couldn't care less about the Brewers (or White Sox), and that when the Cubs win, that's the only thing I care about and celebrate.

Yeesh, these things aren't happening in a vacuum where you need to theoretically dissect where a win begins and a loss ends, people.

The team in question is routinely frustrated by Cubs fans invading their stadium, by the Cubs hiring away their manager, by the Cubs being the "big market" in their division.* To make what should be a shining moment for YOUR franchise be about the team you beat is to play into the exact Little Brother stereotype that you are allegedly fighting. And speaking of taking care of things on the field, this issue would have been a blip everyone already forgot about if they hadn't played the LCS like they'd already won their World Series.

*though someone should let the Ricketts family in on that notion!

Only one team wins the postseason. It's pretty short sighted to make fun of the team you beat after your first playoff series. People who believe in karma could easily use this as an example. I doubt that any other team's picture is taking a shot at whoever they beat. Did the Dodgers make fun of the Brewers? They were swept, plenty to make fun of. More likely they took a day off, then started getting ready for the WS. The moron with the sign should still be carrying it around, because it fits him.
Any of you ever make an effort to humiliate the team you just beat in organized ball, or did you say "good game" and then go about your own business?

Wow, Cubs were “humiliated” by Brewers using the L flag? Really? People believe that? As for the little brother syndrome, I think some of my fellow Cubs fans are “bunt” hurt about finishing below Brewers in standings last 5 years straight (and 32-45 head to head) and 7 of last 8 seasons. Heck, we stole their manager and couldn’t finish higher than them.

Love my Cubs, but find the reaction by fans to the L flag pretty funny. And then those Cubs fans fall back on Karma being reason Milw got swept by LAD. No, Ohtani and company are the reason. Unfortunately, I think the Cubs might have had the same fate. Oh well, I’ll keep enjoying sports as I always have — as a very fun diversion and not something life or death. And I’ll believe Cubs players are made from a hardier stock than to be humiliated by an opponent’s celebration.
