The combine is solid for measurables, but otherwise is mostly performative. 30 shots is about 970 shots short of being useful to measure shooting ability.

A lot of this was already baked in with KW. The book on him already was lack of athleticism but superior decision making/feel for game, efficiency in the p-n-r etc (things the Combine doesn’t really measure). His projections already factored all that in.
IF his stock drops (big if) it's going to be on the below expected height/length (wingspan), along with other guys testing/measuring better than expected. There may be scouts for whom his assumed length advantage was a big selling point. I highly doubt there are scouts who though he was secretly a high flyer and speedster.

Tidbit from a scout I know.
The shooting drills are less about makes and misses and whether you make 11/25 vs 13/25. The drills are meant to show your mental toughness, shooting form and cadence.
He said people that miss a ton in a row means they are succumbing to pressure. The guys that rush or slow down based on their shot falling, also an indicator to him and the club. And watching where the misses come in (left, right, long short) and the frequency of those tell them what the player is doing and thinking.
Found that to be super interesting.

Kayil staying in the draft is a surprise. Not going to help some of the early second round guys.
it's all interview speak. I take it with a grain of salt. it's like a recruit on a visit. once they leave the visit, reality sets in.
andre may well have made his decision one way or another but Illinois will do what it needs to if he stays in the draft... something this staff does well. pivot
My stance has not changed, Andrej Stojakovic is expected back on all fronts.
I don't get it. What is the rush to get to the NBA as a late 2nd round pick when you can do much better playing another year in college on a contending team? Most likely you won't get any playing time and may be playing in the G league. I could sort of get it if he was a late first rounder but just doesn't make sense.
