Or Podz heard a fair critique of his play at Illinois, heard he wouldn't be getting playing time, and decided to try his hand elsewhere while addressing the criticism and it paid off.

There doesn't need to be a bad guy here
Counterpoint: Brad loves quick footed guys that can defend well in space and switch the screens. He loves that type of guy so much that he frequently doesn't care if said player can actually shoot a basketball. Podz could have helped this team last year by being someone who could actually shoot.

Or both can be true. Podz made too many mistakes on defense so he never got the chance to show he should shoot.

And a hypothetical: he might not have had the same production he had last year against Big Ten teams.

Podz got his first game with real time (as far as I know). The warriors sat 3 rotation players (Paul, Wiseman, Payton II).

31m 13/8/2 0 TO, 2PF 50% shooting at all ranges (3/6, 2/4, 1/2) Warrior by 6, Podz +/- of +12

From the stats, it looks like the Clippers 1st string outplayed the Warriors, and the Warriors 2nd string ate the Clippers 2nd string.
I did not watch the game.

Not a huge NBA guy, but try to follow Ayo's stats game by game. Did one of their guards get hurt? He wasn't playing many minutes, which was frustrating, then started last night and played 39 minutes. Also, he had 6 rebounds and 6 assists to go along with the 14 points, so a pretty solid stat line.

Lavine and Derozan were out

addendum: very inspiring effort by the team

NBA doesn’t focus on defense so if you can score you can play. Don’t hear of too many defensive specialists in the NBA

BU stresses defense then offense

The team getting to play downhill, which is more the style that Billy Donovan wants them to play, helps too.

Coby went off in the 2nd half tonight against the Pelicans.
He was money. Not having Lavine is just one less sticky hand. Offense just flows. Demar was great tonight. I also must say, Drummond is a joy. A grown man. Averages something like 17 rbs per 48.

so, the Bulls should move on from Coby, right?

also, great to see signs of life from Williams

Based on last night, they'd be better served sticking with Coby. Even Stacey King acknowledged on commentary that improvement would come with Coby once they gave him more playing time to establish himself.

tap, no, whack, your sarcasm meter
