I think he (Kuminga) will have to slot into the 4, such as it is these days.
sounds like you are right. Kuminga and McDaniels will play the 3/4 spots probably depending on matchups...Kuminga primarily the 4.

I think his signing still eats into TJ's minutes...I hope he gets traded.

A+ offseason for Minnesota. Most definitely a contender in the west.

(Only concern now, if any, would be Ant’s off the court situations)
I don’t think anybody other than OKC and SA are legitimate contenders. According to Polymarket, there’s a 71% chance it’ll be one of those two winning the west (honestly seems a bit low to me).

But Timberwolves are third:

Yea, don't get it .the whole thing with golden state was weird. Maybe he's got baggage we don't know about.
I agree that 6.5M/year seems low given his flashes of potential. I thought LAL offered him a 2 year, 10M/year contract a few months ago and he turned it down. I expect Kuminga to fail at MN for the same reason he failed at GS -- he won't have the ball in his hands as much as he needs/wants. I also expect it will not be long before Kuminga believes he isn't getting enough play time and/or pay and goes back into pout mode.

The GS run was just weird. Lacob (the owner) wanted Kuminga as one of the potential central members of the post Curry era. Kuminga did not fit into the current GS offense. He wanted the ball for 1:1 isos. GS works based on movement, spacing and 3-pt shooting from all positions. (I think Butler is a mismatch for the same reasons.) The result is GS neither played, nor was willing to trade Kuminga. Things got pretty ugly as Kuminga saw his window sliding away.

Related: Podz is another player that Lacob and Kerr want for the post Curry era. I think he is a lead anchor and a major reason GS can't compete.

Bulls expected to use a rotating group of color analysts this season while they decide who will be permanent replacement for Stacey King.

Robbie Hummel is expected to be one of color analysts they use though I'd be surprised if he becomes the permanent analyst with all the money he makes at the national level.

Does Hummel make a lot of money on the national level? I have no idea. I know he works a lot and his reputation is great, so salary probably going up, but does that equate to a lot of money? With all those games he works, that means a lot of travel as well as a lot of prep time. Less travel and working fewer games might be appealing to him. Seems like a long shot, but who knows.

Nobody mentions it here so I will be the 1st. How do you think the Kuminga signing will affect the minutes/role of Ayo and TSJ?

NBA 27-28

Okay, an odd post to start the new NBA year thread, but here goes...

Clippers sign Kahwi Leonard who wants them to trade for Paul George.

Clippers trade Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, five first-round draft picks, and the rights to swap two other first-round picks for Paul George.

Fast forward through no Clippers success................................

Clippers trade Kahwi Leonard for Brandon Ingram & Grady Dick.

Clippers lose Paul George to free agency.

Clippers fined $30 large, and 5 first round draft choices for circumventing the salary cap to sign Kahwi.

So, in essence, the Clippers traded SGA, Gallinari and 10 1st rounders, plus 2 pick swaps, along with $30 large to the NBA for Brandon Ingram and Grady Dick.

What a world, lol.

Benetti and Hummel should be the voices of Big Ten basketball for a long, long time to come. They are great together, and while Hummel is good at calling NBA games too, he's ultimately just more connected to college basketball.

At a preseason Atlanta Hawks and OKC Thunder game and seeing a lot of familiar names I didn’t really want to hear again 😂 : Ray J Dennis, Josh Dix, Kingston Flemings, Brooks Barnhizer, Aday Mara, Bennett Stirtz.

Lots of old Illinois targets / opponents.

Is Lebron James' goal to play for every team in the league?

Do I find it funny Morez only played 14 minutes and still had 5 fouls? Ya I do.

Do I think it’s even more funny he was -20 in those 14 minutes? I also do.

Do I enjoy seeing Dusty get destroyed in his nba debut? I do as well.
I want to see Dusty do well in the NBA. I don’t want to see him back in college any time soon.
