I agree with both of your points. For a comparison, I found some old photos of our orange jerseys with white pants and with orange pants. Unfortunately, it could not be 100% apples to apples. For example, I don't think we ever went all orange in the Zook Era, and I think we only ever wore a white helmet with the orange jerseys and white pants with the Lovie Era uniforms. Either way, it is interesting:

White pants all day, as I have said. :cool: And I think the current uniform set would look especially good with an orange jersey and white pants, but that is JMO. The Lovie Era orange uniforms just pretty much look awful no matter what, haha.

Well if you have orange in color scheme, you either....

1. Use almost exclusively as an accent color (see Bears)
2. Embrace it and be "in your face" about it like the Netherlands soccer team

I like this look. (Though with the Flag I, it would look better on a white helmet or even a navy helmet)

Bonus: I am surprised no one dressed like this during games...

Not as bad as I remember it and I wouldn't hate at least seeing what it looked like with our current set, but ... not a huge fan myself.

Honest truth, the team needs to return to this look with some very minor tweaks (Not into the pants striping). The orange of the jersey and helmet in the bottom picture is almost perfect....

I agree on the jersey, but I didn't like that helmet. It looked too "bronze" or something. I will admit, though, that now I am kind of curious what an O/O/B look would be like under our new uniform scheme, and I can't knock it 'til we try it!

Not many examples and the ones I found are meh. It's infinitely better with O pants or W pants.

Just saw an online add for Illini football tickets. Couldn't figure out how to copy and paste it here. But in the accompanying photo, the Illini player was wearing O/B/B.

Then the second vid came out two hours later. Not a fan of all-orange. It didn't look good on Jim Brown & Syracuse. Ours is a minor improvement on that b/c of the stripes and blue accents. Still... too much orange.

I was wrong. I liked that all-orange combo yesterday. Never thought I'd say that. The stripes make it work.

I do, too, but the O/O/O yesterday was surprisingly good.

That's the earliest home color scheme I recall and liked it (esp the helmets.) However. I like O/B/O as the home standard, with O/O/W (or, now that I've seen the current incarnation of it, O/O/O) as an occasional departure.

God the orange uniforms from the last set were terrible. These kind of work and the all orange has the same stripe on the helmet, shirt, and pants which I think the team likes.
