I'm really starting to LOVE the navy blue jerseys with the orange pants. I am not, however, feeling the white and white combo. At all. Maybe combining the white jersey with the orange pants would help, but I'm not sure. Overall just excited to see these in action during a real game!

the best answer there is white jersey with blue pants

Blue pants don't do much for me. I think they will primarily wear orange pants with the white jerseys. Just didn't here so both sides weren't wearing the same pants.

I will say they unis look better in action photos than they did in the stock photos.

This is my pitch for navy pants. Unlike many schools like Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, etc., we have two very bold primary colors (i.e., we are not just one color and white/gray/gold/black). An example of a breakdown of the Big Ten is below, but I do not think our uniforms look as good if we are only highlighting one of those colors at a time ... it's one of my biggest issues with the old football away jerseys (plain orange number on plain white jersey with almost no blue to be seen) and the current "default" basketball jerseys (plain white font on plain orange jersey or plain orange font on plain white jersey).

One Color Plus White: Indiana, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers, Wisconsin
One Color Plus "Accent" Color: Maryland (uses yellow more sparingly), Ohio State (gray is clearly an accent color), Purdue (I would argue their shade of gold functions as more of an accent)
Genuinely Two "Bold" Colors: Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota

I get why some people might not like this, but I just think it looks kind of cool and unique when the away uniform can incorporate BOTH of the primary colors along with the white, as so few teams have the option to even do that in a non-ridiculous manner to begin with:

Again, this is totally my personal taste, AND I want to say that I think the new O/W/O uniform set looks absolutely awesome. With that said, if you ask me, this color combo below blows the other pictures out of the water ... ESPECIALLY with our new uniform design!

I've been dying on this hill for years. You should only wear white pants if you have no other good option, it's boring and makes everyone just look so similar. If you have 2 colors, use them to their full potential!
Now the last uni set took it too far and eliminated white completely. But now that we've got our helmet and pant stripes back it breaks things up much nicer. Burn all the white pants.

is there a chance Bret is just effing with us and keeping the blue pants in Fort Knox until just before some game this fall ?

If that is the case, it’s more likely there are delays in Nike getting us blue pants and orange jerseys, while the blue and white tops and white and orange pants were prioritized. If I remember quickly, they probably were going to release the set earlier in the year, but Nike faced delays. So maybe they got us the bare minimum and the rest will come when Nike isn’t as rushed for the start of the season.

This would not surprise me. Given there is an orange (fan version of a) jersey already being sold, I am fairly confident that we will go O/O/W for that Penn State "orange out" game ... and I think that would be a really slick look with the white pants we have now. If you will allow me to dazzle you all with my artistic ability for a moment...
