You had Trubisky basically giving up and taking himself out of bounds on an early 4th down.

Multiple times there were defenders just standing around casually while a Saints receiver caught a pass and ran for extra yardage.

Hell the only life they showed all game was when Miller stupidly took himself out of the game.

A loss was expected by all of us, but it was the fact they looked so lifeless on all sides of the ball that's most damning to me. It's like the Bears treated this like a training camp or the first game of the preseason rather than a do-or-die playoff game. They just didn't look too interested in being here at all.

Actually giving up only 21 points to the Saints was a decent performance. I think they average around 31 or 32. It was maddening how many third down conversions they gave up but it kept them in the game. The offense just gave them no chance.

Let’s be honest here-making the playoffs in the NFC this year was no great feat, and the playoff experience under Nagy has not been enjoyable. I would just like someone to tell me what Nagy is good at. I don’t believe he has anything to do with the defense, which is the reason they had the 12-4 season in 2018. He was brought in to develop a modern NFL offense and has failed spectacularly over three seasons. I think both Nagy and Pace are back anyway. Plus you don’t fire a gm and make him inherit the current coach. The last two times the Bears did that, Angelo sabotaged Juron and Emery fired Smith after he went 10-6.

Really happy for the Browns and their fans. Especially their fans who have endured hell for god knows how long. Same old Browns no more!

Bears finished the season going 3-8 in their last 11. They only beat 1 playoff team all year.

I really hope no one in that org is patting themselves on the back and congratulating themselves for a season well done.

I think if Nagy or Pace were being fired, it would have already happened today or there would be some leaks to the press occurring. But with the Eagles firing Pederson, people can quit saying that you can't fire a coach who made the playoffs and had no playoff wins in two out of three seasons. Pederson won a Super Bowl only two years ago.

Looking forward to next season, the Bears will select in the 20th slot in the first round of the draft. On the sched are the home-and-homes in the division, the Seahawks, Rams, 49ers, Cardinals, Giants, Bucs, Steelers, Browns, Ravens, and Bengals. The 17th game is supposed to be a conference crossover game with a team that finished in the corresponding division slot as the Bears did this year. Not sure who that is for sure but it will be the second place team from either the AFC West, South, or East divisions.

Based on the reporting, it sounds like like Luria was unsure of Pederson's vision of getting the team out of the situation they're in.

Just to update on this, the breakdown of the schedule looks like this:

-Home: Lions, Packers, Vikings, Cardinals, 49ers, Ravens, Bengals, Giants
-Road: Lions, Packers, Vikings, Rams, Seahawks, Browns, Steelers, Buccaneers

The potential 17th game would be against the Dolphins, Colts, or Raiders.

On the road against the Rams and the Giants at home for the third straight year.

Brutal schedule and it doesn't look very promising for the Bears. A lot can change between now and opening kickoff though. We shall see.

As I expected, nothing was gonna happen with Pace and Nagy. Now they get to run it back for another year of mediocrity, probably worse.

Pagano was definitely made the scapegoat. Look for Jay Rodgers to be promoted to DC. I don't know who they are gonna attract from outside the organization that's willing to attach themselves to a head coach on the hot seat.

There were a lot of bad options for how the Bears were going to run this offseason. Tying Pace and Nagy specifically together and getting them on the same contract calendar isn’t the worse idea.

Yeah, the Bears aren’t going to win the Super Bowl next year. But they weren’t going to win the Super Bowl next year no matter what the franchise did. At least this will give the franchise a chance to do a much cleaner break from the Pace/Nagy regime when the near inevitable happens next year.

what should happen between now and then is that ownership needs to take a good hard look in the mirror and decide who should be making the decision on Pace’s replacement, because I don’t think that person is in the building right now.

As a fan, I feel like we are going to be in NFL Hell (similar to the Bulls) as long as the McCaskey Family owns this team. Ted Phillips is just like (Gar/Pax) he has no idea what he is doing! Until the bears get someone who knows what a good GM looks like, we are going to continue to be a poor to mediocre franchise.

Man, that is depressing. It seems that the only way that we have success is with a 4th place schedule.

I just don't have any confidence that they have the capability to bring in a good football executive to run the show. Jim Finks was the last great one they had. It seems as if their decision making consists of gathering a bunch of family members in a room and asking "What do you think we should do? I dunno. What do you think we should do?" and so on and so forth. I am so tired of them talking about the good culture of the team and how they persevered through the six game losing streak. And as if making the playoffs is some great feat when almost half of the teams get in. Did Washington have a great season since they made the playoffs? These end of season press conferences are all such bs unless someone gets fired. Honestly, does anyone believe they haven't decided yet whether to move on from Trubisky, or whether they are going to try to sign Robinson? Give me a break. Remember last year? "We really love how Mitch has developed." Except we are going to trade for Foles and have a competition for the job. "We really like Leonard Floyd's versatility." Except we are not going to resign him. "We haven't made any decisions on which assistants will stay or leave." Except for the ones we have already decided to fire.

The biggest problem is that Phillips is really there for the business side of the team, not the football side. Ideally the Bears would hire a president of football operations which would be on same level of front office as Phillips and above Nagy.

I don't know why they even have Phillips speak at these things.
