If I was the ACC I would want to know what he knew and if he knew anything was occurring during his tenure at NW

Football hazing allegedly went on for multiple years. Also baseball, cheerleading, and volleyball have had stuff said about them. If the behavior crossed multiple sports you can’t say it was an isolated incident. That sounds like a cultural issue starting from the top. Hard to think no one within the administration did not hear rumors and did nothing

This is some borderline weird sex cult.
I played HS football and we had zero systemic hazing and nothing sexual like this. I was in a fraternity in Champaign and the same thing (abuse usually involved alcohol). I’m sure this is not isolated (hope I’m wrong) and it is horrific and chilling to me. College football is by far my favorite sport and I hope every major football program takes strong steps to eradicate hazing of all types. It’s hard for me to say but if this is widely accepted then shut the whole operation down.

Separately - NW is not Ped U. It does not have a passionate fan base and broad state support to recover quickly or at all. This now passed era was an aberration without staying power as evidenced by the last few seasons. This only makes it worse. Much much worse.

Yeah as I posted earlier, stuff like freshmen carrying pads, setting up equipment/cleaning etc is a whole different animal than whatever was happening at Northwestern.

What happens at Northwestern is what happens when the culture becomes bigger than the people involved. To me it's a "You made it into this exclusive club so it's time to pay your dues" kind of thing and not a "earning the respect of your teammates" kind of thing.

I doubt very much that hazing to this extreme is just a football thing. I suspect it's far more common at universities who are just like Northwestern in general. The "rules no longer apply to me" mentality so to speak.

I'll take "Northwestern Suspends All Athletic Programs for Five Years" for $1000 Alex.

Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if Northwestern dropped FB altogether... With this developing into a MAJOR situation, plus the rising cost of insurance to cover injuries, and a declining endowment fund, it should be considered by their board of trustees..

Seems more like 2 decades.

Just heard NW tried interviewing former Bears coach Dave Wannstedt for some kind of coaching job and he turned them down.
Considering he is 71 years old now, I doubt he will really want to coach at any high level again (especially at a dumpster fire job). He seems to have the perfect schtick going on television and radio.

Haven't found a published report, but Dan Bernstein on The Score says that another lawsuit filed by "John Doe 3" claims that Fitz witnessed hazing. Bernstein says he's read a copy of the lawsuit.

Not sure how much of a deal this is in a civil matter, but it might make being hired by Bama a lot more difficult.
