"A subsequent investigation by Husch Blackwell, a well-known independent firm, was spurred by the concerns raised in that memorandum. The investigation largely exonerated those accused of improper conduct while crediting Minnesota's athletic training staff for best practices."

Lol come on, you couldn't make that up if you tried

Who would ever have guessed that a guy with the steady demeanor and obvious sound judgment of PJ Fleck would be discredited as running a "cult"?

I'm reminded of The Simpsons episode in which Selma takes Bart and Lisa to Duff Gardens and forces them to ride the boat (on a river of beer) through the Duff parody of It's a Small World. Ever since PJ got on the "row the boat" kick I always think of that scene.

This is what I imagine playing football for Minnesota is like:

The Minnesota message board (Gopherhole.com) is an interesting case study on cult behavior. In one thread, Gopher fans are either laughing at or treating the Northwestern hazing scandal with its due respect and logical acceptance. In another thread, they're blaming the media for hit jobs, calling the aggrieved players disgruntled malcontents and feverishly backing anything and everything PJ Fleck says as gospel.

It's been said: People in cults don't realize they're in cults.
