Season 9 Reaction GIF by The Office

I just don't get it. They made Braun interim because theoretically he would have the least investment in the old ways.

He appears to fine with the heinous status quo, and doesn't dare step on any toes of those scared wittle athletes.

I find the CATW tees interesting. Clear ploy to create an us-against-them mentality that bonds the team, quells even a peep of player dissent, and rallies around their dear, dearly-departed, ex-coach. Also clearly antagonistic to the AD and administration. Giant middle finger. AD's reaction will reinforce the team's fortress mentality.

Purple civil war going on there. Popcorn popped. I hope someone in the B-school at Kellogg (or, better yet for purposes of schadenfreude, Chicago Booth) is taking notes for an Enron-like case study of hubris, downfall, recrimination and despair.

What gets me is... Don't these idiots know that they would all be jobless if NW Administration felt they could of found competent replacements for all the staff/coaches from the time all of this came out until the start of camp? That their is a good chance players on this team will be shown the door after the season is over with and possibly have charges/civil suits brought against them at some point during or after the season?

Can we seriously swap out Northwestern and bring in Stanford. You can leave NW in the BTAA just get them out of the sports side of things.

One would think these dimwits would have run that by the AD before having the shirts made. Proof once again that football coaches know a lot about football not much about anything else.

I will say, this coach playing a master class in CYA. He basically just said:

- I’m aware that certain people were to do this - can’t fire me for claiming ignorance
- I don’t officially support what they’re doing - can’t fire me for supporting what they’re saying
- I’m not holding them back for making the statement - they’ll still support me even though I didn’t participate
- if you do try to fire me - I just gave you my case to sue, and it’s constitutional, so good luck defending that.

All in one simple, easily tweetable (err…Xable?) sound byte.

Terrible decision by the coaches and really does confirm the cultural issues in the program, but at least somebody is smart enough to know how to play the game.

[whisper voice] definitely not a free speech issue but I don’t want to disrupt their impeccably poor judgement
Flipping a giant bird to Schill and Gragg in the service of sending high voltage through camp to galvanize the players, and tribal loyalty to Fitz, trumped basic impulse control.

I knew a walk on the '89 team. Pure gold experience when it came to interviews. Not sure how he did after his first job, but he had lots of good offers and attention. People wanted to rub elbows with a guy like that.

Just the opposite with these idiots. Do they what they're doing to their fancy degrees?
