Who do you think should be DC instead? He's spent a lot of time in the industry working in the NBA, WNBA, and collegiate level. Has a lot more experience that our OC who is the coach's son
We are not better than this. This is the ceiling. We win 20 games every year and lose in second round of ncaa. It’s better than it has been but it is the “Underwood Ceiling.” It’s not bad. Feels better than the bubble or the 8-9 seed line. But it’s the “Underwood Ceiling.” This is Illinois.I’m still mad. We are better than this.
Total lack of discipline with the lead. Underwood, fix this defense.
But still...2 missed layups when it counted.Domask is one of the last things I would put the blame on ... We put A LOT on him ... Every single game ...
Coleman spent all week talking ... Then played like absolute tonight ...
Where has Quincy been? That dude has fallen off the face of the earth ... Has absolutely disappeared for like the last month ...
And we all know about the defense ...
Domask and TJ were the only reason we didn't lose by 20 tonight ... We didn't have a single other guy get double figures ...
To play devil’s advocate here:I cannot understand why he shot that 3 with 20 seconds left on the shot clock with like 100 seconds left in the game. Bleed the clock!
But still...2 missed layups when it counted.
For sure Nick Irvin could do much better!Brad Underwood makes approximately $4 million per year. My old high school coach could do far better and he made a couple thousand dollars a year !
And too stubbornDefense will not get fixed because bu is letting things play out . . . . .
When has Brad ever adjusted schemes in season? I’m not at all surprised here. We died on the “over play the passing lanes to cause turnovers” defense for two years before it was scrapped. It took me two Big Ten games to realize it would never work.
I hate this is considered a coaching strength by some. It just means they wasted all of camp on the wrong scheme.Pretty much every year we have scrapped the offense after the Mizzou game ... Last year we scrapped the whole offense and went spread after Christmas ...
Actually over the last half of the season very rarely has anyone other than Domask brought the ball up and initiate the offense. Brad apparently doesn't even trust anyone else for that. Pretty much ends the Ty is our point gaurd debate.Who else has the ability to handle the ball and make free throws?
They've been doing the guard by committee since October. Get ready to keep soiling yourself because that's what we have.
True… but it was still situationally the wrong decisionTo play devil’s advocate here:
There was still 2 minutes left, he was 3-4 from 3 at that point and it was an open look. We go up by 11 if he makes it and the game is likely over.
He shouldn’t have to. Ty should be doing the magority of the ball handling. I know he had 4 fouls but he needed to be out there.I like Domask. The team doesn’t have the record they have without Domask. But I’m not sure I would be comfortable with him playing 38/40 min of a game as our primary ball handler
Bro Ghost ...You simply can’t give up 90 points to this PSU team and be a serious threat for anything. We have problems.
100% this. It's a mission for us just to get the ball in bounds. And I'm not just talking about end of game situations but overall. It seems like every time we inbound it we're up against the timer and have to chuck it up beyond the 3 point line to Dain/Coleman just to narrowly avoid a 5 second call. I don't know that we scored on a set inbounds play all year.If Penn State can run a normal out of bounds play to get 3 layups during the game we should be able to run a simple play just to get the ball inbounds
