ILL in IA

Iowa City
If you have a chance to see what Bohanon did on the consecutive FT streak, check it out. Cool move on his part. The only credit I will give to him or Iowa.

Also, rumors of Cuonzo back channeling his way into Iowa to steal Tyler Cook away. Let's make this one Cooks last game if it's true.

If Iowa shoots 40 FT's and we foul 31 times like happened in C/U in January we have no chance of winning.

We foul like crazy. Our offense is getting better, though. I think we can win 1 game in this tourney. 2 would surprise me.

We are the #1 most fouling team in the NCAA with 22.3 fouls per game and this will probably be a school record, too.

I hope that doesn't happen.

Why would a guy as good as Cook want to sit out a year. He looks like an NBA player to me.

Am guessing the hotel that is directly across from St Patricks Cathedral.

Lotte NY Palace right there- very nice hotel.

Got to be up on , Bohanon. Can't give him space. NW, did and got burned. Don't give him a chance to make a long 3. Pick him up tight 3/4 or half.

Just booked flight and hotel. Figured tickets will be plentiful especially early rounds. Any advice for obtaining best tickets for good price? Anyone know which section(s) assigned to Illinois?

We committed 31 fouls against them last game and they made 33/40 FTA in the OT loss. Won't be pretty if we go that route again.

Stubhub....they have a pick up location near MSG. Wednesday is open seating and there is generally nobody there.Only tough ticket is Saturday. I was scheduled to go but Son has some training so we canceled.Bummer. NYC is fun!!FYI, just saw Ticketmaster has single game tickets for sale, too.

Thanks, went to Google maps to look up the name. However, was side tracked once I learned the 360° camera went in St Patricks Cathedral. That place is jaw dropping inside & out.

Hoping Underwood & staff can throw some new looks in the game. Noticed a new play in the last 2 games.

TeJon didn't play the last game. He needs to be on Bohannon without fouling. Think he will make a difference. Hopefully frustrate him into taking bad shots.

Iowa leads the B1G in TOV's and Illinois is the best at creating them plus Iowa's defense is the worst in the B1G. Illinois' bench scoring leads the B1G and Iowa is in the bottom half. Plus physically we match up very well. I'll be surprised if UI doesn't win this game. UI 73 Iowa 64:thumb:

Underwood: Excited to be here in New York. Excited for the opportunity that is the Big Ten tournament. In what I think is the greatest basketball venue in all the world.

Underwood: We face an Iowa team coming off a tremendous win in Iowa against Northwestern. Fran has that team playing as well offensively as anyone in the country.

Underwood: We were not very good defensively in that first game. We didn't have Te'Jon, who is an important piece to us at the defensive end.

Underwood: Mark Smith was in practice yesterday. Still fairly weak. Expect him in uniform tomorrow.

Underwood: We're going to show some highlights & some clips of what this venue has meant to basketball. The Jordans, the Magics. I want our guys to understand where we're playing.

Underwood on playing in a tournament other than the NCAA tournament: Haven't even thought about it. If it comes up, we'll talk about it as a staff. As long as that Big Dance is still out there, that's where all my focus is right now.

Underwood: Yesterday, we were at NYU (practicing) at one of their rec buildings. Wasn't a full length court. Today, we're at the Nets facility.

Underwood: Da'Monte has been great on the glass. I showed our team clips of Te'Jon in the Rutgers game. The way he denied Sanders the ball. He had three of the best offensive rebounds we've had all year.

Underwood: I'm very critical of myself. I self-evaluate all the time. I really appreciate our growth. I knew it was going to be a battle... The growth of this team has really, really excited me.

Underwood: It's quite an accomplishment for Trent to make the All-Freshman team. Trent has improved as much as any freshman I've had in a long time. Couldn't even get the ball across halfcourt at Eastern. Excited for the future.

Lotta coach speak in that, but that's to be expected.

This is it for this team, so I hope they put up a good fight. I'm not going to think about how lousy this season has been. We're young, and we're better than our #168 RPI indicates :p

They must have been practicing at NYU’s palladium gym yesterday. The other gym is where the actual NYU team practices and plays. Crazy they couldn’t get a full length court. There are many in Manhattan.
