But they beat 8 teams by 30+. You guys went to OT with Purdue. Indiana beat them by 66 pts. I understand that doesn't matter much based off 1 head to head result but they creamed a bunch of teams. They were in the OSU game until their punt team decided to hand them 14 pts on a bad snap and bad return defense. I've been an Indiana fan for 30 years and this is the best coached and most talented that I have ever seen them. This is the probably the most talented group of players that Indiana and Illinois has ever collectively put onto a football field.
You haven’t been to the Rose Bowl since 1967…

They also failed to score 4 times inside the 5 yard line. That Old Dominion team just ran Va Tech off the field. Indiana came out in the next game and played great in the redzone. We didn't look good in game 1 last season either and by games 3 or 4 we were cooking. I get why people still don't want to give Indiana respect because they laid an egg vs OSU and ND. But those were road games with a QB playing on a torn ACL and a broken thumb on his throwing hand. We simply couldn't pass the ball well. Fact is, Cignetti took over a team that won 9 games in 3 years and won 11 in year 1.
N played St Marys or the blind in non conference and avoided 3 of the top 4 teams in the B10. Play somebody in mon conference! Like you do in hoops. You may lose and your AD knows it. Your coach hasn't played a one game vs a top 4 B10 team yet and won...lost to OSU and avoided the other 3 last year. BRING IT at your place.. your AD doesn't schedule like ours in football! Wake up. We may not be going to LSU but we travel to power 4 schools win or lose.. We are coming.

Indiana fan here. I don't know what outcome to expect next weekend? But this Indiana team is far more talented than last season. Their OL is miles better. The QB is far more talented. The RBs are a lot better. The WR room is a year older. They brought back 3 Pre-Season All Americans on defense. Probably the most athletic defense we've ever had. I agree we've cleaned up on some cupcakes but Old Dominion just blew out Virginia Tech yesterday and is probably the best team in Virginia and Kennesaw State lost to Wake Forrest by 1 point. Maybe the ACC just sucks? There is no question in my mind that we would beat the living crap out of Duke. So we'll see what happens Saturday. Safe travels if you're coming here. I'll be there.
You have played 3 cupcakes and you are ready to crown this as the best Indiana team you have ever seen?!

Look, I know the history of IU Football in the last 30 years makes that argument Last year vs This year. So it's not a huge stretch where we could point to 01/07/ 22 for top end pros/last year for team achievement.

But that statement in itself makes me disregard your comment entirely.

You could have a good team AND you could even win this Saturday. But talking definitively after watching your team beat the Sycamores and ODU? give me a break....Beat Illinois and win a top 25 road game THEN say that.

My two biggest concerns right now would be 1. Do we have enough at outside CB and 2. Who is the reliable WR2 after Beatty. The Bowick injury scares me with the latter.

I think the run game/OLine has the least to the with personnel, plus they've been very efficient in 2nd halves.

X can always play on the outside but we really need Clarke to play. It would also be nice to see Patterson step up since he’s a big corner.

Old Dominion is definitely not a cupcake.

Unless somehow our O line is holding back for conference play, I think they are just average. The receivers seem better at getting open this year. Where are all the wheel routes , swing throws to the running backs ? Indiana is the team I most want to beat this year, mostly because Iowa is not on the schedule. And I want a convincing win , not last second heroics ! I have no patience with Cigneti and his " Remember the Titans " monologue. And finally turn Valentine loose....sick him on the Hoosiers !
Wouldn’t that be great to see Valentine rip them to shreds.

Congrats on “creaming” bad teams. You got Mollywhopped in every game that mattered and you have a coach that runs his mouth like he’s been running CFB for decades. And you wonder why the media crushes Indiana Football? Touch grass

They aren't a powerhouse.

We acting like they are Bama for beating a V Tech team that got their coach fired week 3?

Shoot, if they had played AT ODU. I'd give more credit. ORRRR!!! If they had played Virginia! But did Indiana coaching staff have THAT much confidence this was the best team Indiana has ever had ...etc etc? No

There’s so much I don’t know about match up’s and schemes. Bielema’s matches up well with teams like Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota. Is Indiana’s scheme (offense) one that gives us fits? Possibly. It’s really too early for me to say what happens. We could be down by 10 plus most of the game and never catch up, or we could do to them what we did to Duke. I’m hoping for the later.

I never said they were a powerhouse. I just stated my opinion that they are not a cupcake.

What powerhouse has Illinois played?

According to Sagarin, Old Dominion is better than Duke. And Indiana State is better than Western Illinois.

Gonna be tough to beat Indiana. Despite playing a very weak schedule, they’ve shredded their opponents, both on offense and defense. They’ve looked practically perfect through twelve quarters of play. Cignetti has them playing at an extremely high level and their confidence is off the charts.

Meanwhile, we’ve struggled to get the motor started in each of our three games with the offensive line looking pedestrian for the majority of the three. We won’t be able to wait until the second half to get going against a a disciplined, high-flying team like Indiana. They’ll slice and dice us like we’re Grambling State if we aren’t prepared from the get go.

Sadly, I see this getting out of hand early with the Hoosiers being nearly unstoppable.

52-10 Hoosiers.

Played at home.

Not a different time zone P4 school on the road.

If home vs road doesn't matter to you....then there is no talking sense into the matter.

**ODU is not a cupcake this year but it's not a P4 home and home series either.

They haven't played anyone as of yet. Ind State just isn't at any level to play an Indiana. Stop Sarrat a very good receiver. Start fast and hold them. Ind doesn't hasn't faced our size or speed . I am looking forward seeing Tonia vs Cohan. On offense seeing a healthy Loughrey run like did against Northwestern. Go Illini.

This is worst case scenario and we’ve seen this happen too many times. I fear this scenario as a real possibility and hope these fears are unfounded.

Yeah and according to Sagarin, Alabama is 25 spots better than Florida State and Florida is a top 16 team in the country

Yup. Hate to say it, but this is gonna be a tough mountain to climb. If somehow we can just be in the game in the fourth quarter, that’ll be a victory in itself.

I have this as a coinflip game, and Indiana is solid this year. My worry for us is our O line, we've have struggled.

Indiana schedule has been light, and that's been on purpose. I think it will hurt them in this game. Plus I think we will be more physical.

As Mike Tyson says "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face"

The line has struggled to get a push at times. A bigger problem is not hitting check downs when it’s an all out blitz and staying in slow developing plays.
