None of these guys could ever be good enough for some of you. Good grief. Maybe change your perspective a wee bit.

They could call an outstanding game, and one comment from them would have half this boards panties in a wad.
Disagree - no way Dakich could ever call an outstanding game and I've already said Robbie Hummel is the guy.

Dakich is the worst all time, all sport.
Hawk Harrelson sends his regards, and wants you to know Wrigley is the worst place on earth for 9 straight innings, oh and the Sox are losing by 6.

There will always be someone who hates a color guy. My (conspiracy?) theory is that if you're on color, you have to make claims that'll piss of some portion of the viewership, or else you aren't a very good color guy.

Would anyone else watch a commentary free feed? Just the stadium sounds on surround; fans cheering, sneakers squeaking, etc?

Am I alone on wanting that?

I was once watching an MLB game that lost the announcers for a couple innings on a technical difficulty, and it was really pleasant to just enjoy the game as-is.

The betting line for tonight's Illinois/Indiana game has dropped from yesterday Illinois -5 to today Illinois -1.5. What's going on? An Illini injury, suspension, or something of the sort?

Does anyone know the status of C Hawkins? If I'm not mistaken he didn't play vs. Iowa and BBV did. Was it a bad matchup for him, is he in the doghouse or injured or something else?

Doesn't this mean a ton of money has been put on Illinois so far and the books want to sway it back a bit to hedge? I may have gotten it reversed but I think the point is the same.

Robbie Hummel is very good. Would think he'll have lots of coaching options if he wants it.

As I had previously mentioned I think Amaan Franklin will be in the lineup and to take a number down like that took lots of money betting on IU to do that.

Grandison in the starting lineup is the wisest thing bu has done all year.

Its how the money is going. Money is being bet for IU. Vegas adjusts the line to balance the betting.

Interesting because Archie said last night that Franklin "isn't healthy at all" and "hobbled'

Expect to see more minutes for Lander. I think he's been turning the corner a bit for them.

Anyone think we'll see Damonte unseat Adam Miller? I would take that as another shakeup if we falter in the next few games.

I know others have mentioned they'd like to see Adam Miller have a chance for some freedom with that second unit. Maybe it would loosen him up and we'd see some good things.

It will be interesting to see how BU uses these two tonight. I haven't seen or heard anything that would indicate an injury. BBV is finally healthy, which is great news. It's even better news for the team if he has beaten CH out for those spot minutes. I think CH has played reasonably well. If BBV is an upgrade, that's good news. I don't think most of us have seen enough of his game to know for sure what we have there.

I have my doubts. DW seems to me to have looked reluctant to shoot the past few games. (1 of 5 from deep in the last 5 games) AM didn't make or take many shots in the last game, but Iowa wasn't leaving him open either. If DW regresses into a reluctant shooter, its really going to mess with our spacing. If anything, we might see Curbelo crack the starting lineup. He played significantly more minutes than either AM or DW against Iowa, and was on the floor in the deciding minutes.

I've been saying that I'd like to see his minutes come with Curbelo on the court and see if that could help set him up to score more.

I think starting off this game with energy and control is crucial. DW has defense, hustle, smart playmaking and just lots of high IQ stuff to get possessions. I will take that, versus spot up three point shooting, as more of an asset in the first 10 minutes tonight.
Oh, and DW is a pretty good 3 pt shooter i hear😎

Honestly, I think if Franklin isn't 100%, Miller would be an idiot to play him tonight. They have a chance to rest him for another five days (making it almost 2 weeks of rehabbing the ankle), and then they will be looking at 3/4 day splits the rest of the way. Rushing a guy with an ankle injury back only to potentially lose him the rest of the month would be coaching malpractice. It burned McCaffery with rushing CJF back too early (against IU coincidentally) and losing him for the game against us.

Educated guess is BBV over Hawkins was matchup based. If memory serves both Kofi and Giorgi had picked up a foul when BBV came in, and BBV was matched up on Garza. Guessing BU was looking to steal a minute or 2 and save his bigs from further foul trouble and BBV was just a better choice to body up Garza. If I had to bet I would say CH gets more tick over BBV tonight.

On a side note, I know he missed the layup but BBV seemed to move and leap better than I remembered. If he could turn into a guy who can body up 4’s and smaller 5’s and stretch the floor he would be a great asset. Still like his potential if he’s past his foot problems.
