Honestly, I think if Franklin isn't 100%, Miller would be an idiot to play him tonight. They have a chance to rest him for another five days (making it almost 2 weeks of rehabbing the ankle), and then they will be looking at 3/4 day splits the rest of the way. Rushing a guy with an ankle injury back only to potentially lose him the rest of the month would be coaching malpractice. It burned McCaffery with rushing CJF back too early (against IU coincidentally) and losing him for the game against us.

This is the time of the year that there are a lot of players that are playing and are not 100%. Must be a lot of idiots out there.:)

Well, you're not wrong 😂 There's playing through pain and there's playing injured. You can't not aggravate a serious ankle sprain on the court. I don't think he'll play tonight mostly because the schedule tightens up so much starting this weekend. Five consecutive days on Pt/rest from here on out = two missed games.

Would anyone else watch a commentary free feed? Just the stadium sounds on surround; fans cheering, sneakers squeaking, etc?

Am I alone on wanting that?

I was once watching an MLB game that lost the announcers for a couple innings on a technical difficulty, and it was really pleasant to just enjoy the game as-is.
Old boxing used to be close to that. Just limited commentary and a bit to fill in-between the rounds. I'd like to hear more fan noise (canned or real) and sneaker squeaks on the hardwood during basketball games. Or having mics near the coaches - always quality entertainment.

I'll follow my previous post up with Al Michels is my all time favorite....whether it's baseball, football, hockey or corn hole contest... he's simply the best

Would love to give this a go, especially in this no fan moment. Would be cool to hear all the court chatter and coaches for a full game (curses bleeped)

I think starting off this game with energy and control is crucial. DW has defense, hustle, smart playmaking and just lots of high IQ stuff to get possessions. I will take that, versus spot up three point shooting, as more of an asset in the first 10 minutes tonight.
Oh, and DW is a pretty good 3 pt shooter i hear😎
I think I heard some speculation the other day that he’s playing through an injury and that’s likely why he’s been less effective. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Does anyone know the status of C Hawkins? If I'm not mistaken he didn't play vs. Iowa and BBV did. Was it a bad matchup for him, is he in the doghouse or injured or something else?
According to a video someone posted yesterday of a recent practice, I'd say he may be in the doghouse a bit, but also think he just isn't ready for that type of game yet.

In the video BU says along the lines of "Hawkins isn't competing much today."

For IU injuries: Armaan dealing with an ankle and Trey Galloway is just returning to team activities maybe today? Might have a shorter than normal bench.

Edit: why do these pregame threads usually turn into “favorite/least favorite commentator and ref” ? Could we actually discuss the game?

The BBV/Hawkins storyline isn’t a thing. Hawkins will likely be the 8th or 9th guy in the rotation tonight.
Someone made the point earlier that if BBV has indeed jumped Hawkins in the rotation, then BBV must be really good, because I’ve loved what I’ve seen from Hawkins. It only makes us that much deeper.
Getting Adam on track with our designed back door alley-oop play from BUs first couple years would be a great way to open the game.

Yeah think i remember seeing posts about that also. Really hoping he's up to speed. No doubt he’s been a leader off the court, but his skill and leadership on the court could help the team sustain the momentum from the Iowa win.
