Fuel to the fire baby! F Iowa. If the boys can’t get fired up for this one and bring home a W, we may never. Makes a big game even bigger.

Iowa is definitely within their legal rights to not sell the tickets, or in this case, refund them to Illinois fans. Illini fans aren't a protected class. Sport teams do this all the time, and frankly, given it's a Saturday game, not a ton to do in the greater Iowa City area in the winter (if you're not a college student blacking out day drinking), a good, competitive team in a good, competitive Big Ten game, I doubt they'll struggle much to sell those tickets elsewhere.

It doesn't mean they don't come off as petty babies. Hopefully gives the team a bit of an extra juice.

I think they can refuse entry to whoever they want. I read the money that the Krush lost was from canceling their bus charter outside the free cancelation window.

Still a 🐔💩 move by Iowa. I knew they had little brother syndrome but I guess I didn't realize they were that insecure.

200 members of the Orange Crush were notified today that the Athletic Department at Iowa just realized who they had sold a block of tickets to for Saturday’s mens basketball game. The Iowa AD canceled all the tickets immediately and refunded the $5400 to the Orange Krush. They did not offer to pick up the $6000 cost of the charter buses that won’t be refunded to the Krush. So now the Illinois students lose their funds and a chance to go to another Big 10 school and cheer for their team. Poor sportsmanship, Hawkeyes.

What complete tools. I chuckle knowing that Iowa fans as old as I am are salivating about next season when they can take a trip down memory lane and celebrate the 45th anniversary of their most recent Big Ten regular season title, a three-way tie for first in... wait for it... 1979.

I was in seventh grade. Jimmy Carter was president. The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan. The first functioning space shuttle was delivered to NASA. The Deer Hunter won Best Picture at the Oscars. The Sonics beat the Bullets for the NBA title. The Pirates won the World Series (the young among us will want to sit down and ponder that inconceivable nugget.) The Iran hostage crisis began.

That's the last time Iowa basketball fans had something worth celebrating.

Savor those tears, my brothers and sisters.

Krush them. :illinois: 🏀 :ah:

Wow, where did the charter bus money originate?

Not the Krush's fault Iowa fans don't give two hoots about Frannie's hawks and the Krush can buy a block of tickets. Here's hoping for an Illinois victory in the range of 108-51. And Fran has an epic 3-tech, Bobby Knight/Ted Valentine-like meltdown and has the entire college hoops world laughing at Iowa.

In my opinion the worst part is waiting until today to cancel the tickets ensuring that the 200 students and Orange Crush lose the most money possible and have the maximum disappointment. There are still three days to make sure world knows how pathetic that was for an University administration to do to a bunch of students.
