One other question for all of you: Was I the only one that completely forgot about Reggie Corbin? So happy to see him get back into the game. What was his story anyway?

Yes, I think you were. He was injured (ever disclosed?) and missed the entire preseason camp.

I thought Illinois' performance coming off a bye week was very disappointing. The team looked completely unprepared against a very average Nebraska team. Until the Illini show me something different its hard to predict any wins for this squad going forward. Iowa will be desperate to avoid going 0-3 in the conference. Both of their lines will dominate the Illini. I really don't see how we score any points this week. Iowa 31, Illinois 0.

Honestly, Crouch should be moved to TE or H back after this season. The kid is big and can run, but he should be the one getting the ball, vs. the one in charge of getting rid of the ball.

Honestly, Crouch will graduate transfer after this season. Barring injury to 2 Qbs or the punter, he's done at Illinois.

Ugh. This one will be bad. If you're in IC look for me, the 1 Illini fan tailgating with 9 Iowa fans. Kick one of the Iowa fans in the shins as you walk by.

I am looking forward to be in attendance for the end of the first quarter and the wave. Cool thing they have started. Living here I pray my kids are never in that hospital.

By the time my mom and dad come over to my house by Kinnick, I think I will be rocking a 35 to 3 Hawkeyes:Illini ratio. :thumb:

Maybe, but he hasn't exactly seen any other program he is a worthy QB candidate. Who knows, maybe a position switch, if successful, might open some NFL eyes, cuz it ain't coming at QB

Sounds like temp with JG to me. Cam Thomas is going to get some time very soon IMO.

Might as well, especially after the Rutgers game. It's going to be hard for any QB to be successful with this OL. If Kramer is healthy by Saturday, we could be starting 3 Freshmen.

Thomas won't do well but at least it would give him much needed game experience. I am concerned about him getting hurt since it looks like he needs to add another 20 lbs to his frame but at least we can get a glimpse of what he can do heading into 2018.

Those eyes would have to be wearing beer goggles

I have looked at this game inside and out.

Factored in Iowa at home huge crowd-Great Defense the best Illinois has faced all year. QB change at Illinois and our unique inability to move the ball.

18 points looks dead balls center but I am in inclined to say Iowa by 24.

Only hesitation on a spread that large is that Iowa's offense has been pretty much AWOL. I haven't really looked at them very closely but if they have a QB that can throw, our secondary has looked completely lost the last couple games and will get picked apart. If so, 24+ should be pretty easy for them to attain. I have a feeling we're going to fix a lot of broken offenses and defenses this year.

None of my friends watched Illinois-Nebraska, and all of them are super down on the Hawkeyes after their loss at Michigan State. They probably all still expect a victory, but I'm getting a lot of, "Might actually be a pretty close one!" LOL. Part of me wants to let them keep believing that and get pumped for the game, and part of me wants to be like, "Stop; you'll kill us" to temper expectations.

And people are complaining we don't have an identity.

I've gotten the same reaction from my buddies. I've made it very clear I expect us to get dog walked and that I'm in this for the tailgate. I've got a babysitter line up for the kids. Lets have fun.

Maybe this pregame fact will help us channel the luck of past Illini greats and eek out a win this Saturday? :D:eek:

There are only two programs in the Big Ten that we have a winning record against all-time at their place. Indiana and...

IOWA!

Illinois is 38-32-2 vs. Iowa all-time, 20-14 in Champaign and 18-17-2 in Iowa City. Let's not give away the edge this weekend, boys!

I don't expect miracles, but I do expect us to be more competitive this week than last, even if it's incremental. That's how this season is supposed to play out. How much we lose by will depend on turnovers. If nothing else, I'd like to see George have a good game.

I'd like to see our offense score a touchdown.

Let's not get carried away. This is college football. Teams only average around 28-30 points per game. 3 yards and a cloud of dust, I tell ya. That's how you win games in the modern age. When in doubt on 3rd down, punt.

Just thinking out loud. Have both Crouch and JGJ behind center and the play determines who gets the snap. LMAO. Could drive defenses nuts.

Naaah, they will bump into each other and drop the ball and Iowa recovers. Not a good idea.
