If Chase Brown is out the line will go over 20.
I think we are a more dangerous team without Chase. We won’t be as predictable and will spread it out and let Tommy show what he can do

I hope Chase is ok and he is a great RB

total trap game for scUM. we got them right where we want them boys! /s

GO ILLINI!
Brings to mind a famous quote attributed to Col. Creighton Abrams (and to an anonymous medic) at Bastogne in WWII: “They’ve got us surrounded again, the poor bastards”. There is advantage to being underestimated. We need to leverage it with the right attitude.

In 1993 our record was 2-4 heading into a 13th ranked Michigan team in Ann Arbor, and we beat them. In 1999 our record was 3-3 heading into a 9th ranked Michigan, and we beat them. In 2008 our record was 2-2 heading into Ann Arbor, Michigan, and we beat them. In 2009, we were 1-6, and beat Michigan at home......drum roll please, the week after we lost to Purdue.

I do not believe we were favored in any of these 4 games. We are clearly now considered an inconsistent, yet still dangerous team. I heard someone say before the game yesterday "Which Purdue team is going to show up?". Well sadly we got the one that wanted to win. This is why the games are played. If our coaches can clean up the play calling, our players can clean up the mistakes, and we take more chances instead of playing not to lose, anything is possible.

That being said, my prediction:

Michigan 42
Illinois 24

In the unlikely event that we beat both Michigan and Northwestern, in this scenario we just need Purdue to lose one if its last two?? Since we would hold the tiebreaker against everyone except Purdue? Sorry, I have full jugs of Orange Koolaid since bball is starting, so still a bit delusional about our chances.

Who are the RBs for the scUM game is CB and JM can't go? RL3, CH and Jordan Anderson?

Would be nice to see some fresh legs get some carries - without getting overwhelmed.

My response from other thread. Three potential scenarios for Illini to win West. Right now Iowa is in driver's seat.

Interestingly within the West, nobody controls their own destiny, which is stunning with only 2 games left.

Illinois scenarios to win West:

1) Illini win out and Iowa wins out, regardless of what Purdue does. This would result in 3-team tie if all three teams win out. All three teams would have the same record among each other (1-1), and would move to second tiebreaker (division record), which Illini win.
2) Illini win out and Purdue loses one game. Illini hold all tiebreaker over other potential teams
3) Illini win one game does not matter who, though likely NW; Purdue loses one game; MN beats Iowa but loses to Wisc; Wisc wins out; Iowa loses to MN but beats Nebraska. Result is a 5 way tie for first. Illini win tiebreaker based on common record among tied teams (3-1).

Did not breakdown what happens if Iowa loses to Nebraska, but I think we would lose out to Purdue in 4 way tie involving MN, Wisc, and Purdue.

Crazy stuff!

Assuming Illini lose to Mich, looks like Iowa controls own destiny.

I really expected it to be more than 17, especially if Chase is out.
nah

we just arent in those guys league yet, when going in to the game
it doesnt mean we cant beat them , and wont
its just from a betting standpoint, thats about where the line needs to be to get people to bet on either side.

I feel its about right, even with a healthy Chase Brown
