I'm waiting to do check in with you guys because I saw so many chicken little post after our loss against purdue yet one did we deserve to lose maybe. 2 we have been injured for 3 weeks literally when you lose Seth Coleman that affects how effective Gay jacas, can be in other players on the line if you think Alex Bryant is ya 1st string you're nuts. On the defensive backside of the ball we got called for some stupid flags that affected it. Offensively amazing why don't you run the number one Offensive running back in the country like you have been why do you sl5ta win that is 3540 miles an hour it is what it is. I have confidence going to Michigan I think we're gonna beat Michigan I think we're gonna upset him I think Brett is gonna have him ready I think defense is gonna be ready I think the alignments gonna go in and shock the world

I can't say I understand this post completely, but I sure do like it.

Go Illini. Beat Scum.

Trying to decide if the boys can bounce back after all of the pressure has been released to keep things close, or if an emotional hedge may be the way to go here...
I personally wouldn't touch this game. Too many unknowns (injury wise) at this time.

My gut feel is it's a 1 possession game at halftime, possibly with us with the lead. I don't expect us to win, but I feel we're going to scare the holy hell out of them especially after losing these past 2 games. My guess is it's still a 1 possession game in the 4th quarter at some point with us having shot to win but we see something heartbreaking, like a blocked punt returned to the house. That said, without Chase Brown this idea gets tougher as he has been very hard for opponents to match up with in coverage. Anyways, I'd take the under if I was betting- I just don't see Michigan as an unstoppable juggernaut this year.

This is exactly the kinda game Illinois wins. Don't know that they will, but it feels like there is a lengthy history of losing games they should win and also winning games they should lose. BB should definitely have the team's attention and focus right now. Plus, I'm making the trip up and I'm going to dress my family in orange amongst 105k maize and blue people, so I'm bringing positive thoughts!

Side Note: does anyone have any tips for gameday in Ann Arbor? Parking? Where to eat after? What to avoid?

No idea what to think ... even after the MSU loss, I would have entertained a world where we lose to Purdue on some fluke but turn around and shock Michigan in the Big House. However, the way in which we lost to Purdue had a weird feeling of "emotionally breaking" this team. I hope to God I am wrong, and I'll still be tuning in and cheering my a$$ off, but I have a bad feeling about this one.

I remember seeing a 2-4 team in 2019 take down Wisconsin in a wild game nobody expected. This team is better than that one so I'll keep my hopes up.

It seems like teams have figured us out offensively and defensively though. I hate to say it but... this all started in the Nebraska game. We are lucky their QB was hurt because they were on a path to do exactly what MSU and Purdue did through the air against us.

It also comes down to personnel. These teams simply have better athletes (check recruiting rankings the past few years). Being coached up only gets you so far sometimes. Still extremely happy with the season though and looking forward to 8-4. Go Illini.

Prediction:

Fichigan- 27
Cinderella- 13

Maybe this was already known, but that's at least an indication that Chase's injury doesn't appear to be severe.

Jeez staying in the game with a dislocated wrist? That's one tough dude wow.

Not surprised with adrenaline + how cold it was. The crazier part is getting surgery while the game is still going on!

How do you even move your hand with a dislocated wrist? much less football stuff

If our defense can return to the form we saw earlier in the season and the offense is clicking above normal (let's be real - that's what we'd need to get the upset...), the one thing that gives me some hope is how Michigan played against Iowa.

Iowa is arguably a comparable defense to face to what we will throw out there (on our A game, anyway), and they were holding Michigan to fairly few points overall, looking at the final score after each quarter:

Q1: Michigan 7, Iowa 0
Q2: Michigan 13, Iowa 0
Q3: Michigan 20, Iowa 0
Final: Michigan 27, Iowa 14

Again, this is all null and void if we remain in a funk. However, if we can hold Michigan to similar point totals, I am more confident that our offense can get 3 points on many of those drives that Iowa failed to score, and maybe we can even get 7 points. If we can keep the game close going into the third and fourth quarters, you just never know what can happen! IMO, we are "due" for a few explosive plays, whether that is our defense finally scoring or Chase busting open for a 60+ yard drive.

I'm not optimistic overall, but I think if we get the team that showed up in Madison or Lincoln or vs. Minnesota at home, we will have a chance to have our style of play throw Michigan into a funk and give ourselves a chance.
