That's some top notch Monday morning quarterbacking.

Since they may get killed, I guess it makes sense to go incognito in those ugly all white uniforms. The lack of color signifies the lack of talent.

Yeesh, some of you guys are absolutely vicious when it comes to something as trivial as the uniforms.

With two injured QBs might have been a good idea to put him in for a few snaps against Rutgers or earlier in the season, no? I'm a big Lovie supporter, but some of the coaching decisions this year have been past curious. Throwing this kid to the wolves his first game is coaching malpractice.

I'm not commenting on other coaching decisions, but there are very few coaches who will put a third string QB into a game still in doubt," just in case" we need him later in the year.

Better decision was made by giving him increased reps in practice.

He got playing time against Murray St. The Rutgers game was still in doubt until late in the 4th. You don't put him in unless Crouch is unable to take a snap and all he would have been doing is handing the ball off anyways.

There actually isn't a lot of pressure on Jeff for this game. We are expected to lose and lose big. Most of us just want to see Illinois get through this game without suffering any more injuries.

What concerns me is the long term status of Crouch and Lunt. Are they getting this game off because it is a lost cause or are they not going to be available for an extended period of time? Not sure if Illinois has a chance against anyone on the remaining schedule, but Michigan St. looks like they could be vulnerable.

A few snaps against Rutgers wouldn't really do much to prepare him for what he'd see today against Michigan. Putting you in a room with a friendly Labrador for five minutes doesn't prepare you to be thrown to the wolves. :)

I agree that we've seen some odd coaching things - clock management comes to mind - but I don't think not playing JG Jr. a week ago was one of them.
