This^. Laparoscopic abdominal surgery is remarkably noninvasive. I had my gallbladder removed 12 yrs ago at 44. Rolled out of surgery around 4:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon and awoke begging for morphine. Walked out the door of the hospital to go home exactly two hours later. Had two half-inch incisions in my abdomen to show for it. And a little bottle of Vicodin as a parting gift.As for stitches, modern surgery now requires no "incisions" to remove small organs. Two holes, robot arms go in...pluck organ out. Almost no stitches to rip out in most cases.
This is why RJ could sit on the bench looking absolutely unfazed on Thursday evening. That guy will heal in half the time I did, but he's still likely out of combat for 4-6 wks.
