Gophers are 13-1 at The Barn but have yet to win a game on the road. Their only home loss was to Maryland. They beat Iowa by 7, OSU by 17, and Michigan by 18. In their last home game they squeaked by Purdue 71-68. They were trailing with less than 20 seconds left.

Hopefully we are not overconfident after the beatdown we put on them in Champaign. I foresee another nail-biter. I'm predicting we win 74-70. We have an Ayo and they don't.

Less than 10 turnovers and shoot over 70, yes 70% from the free throw line for the love of god please

Good synopsis...i'll add that in the purdue and iowa games both teams kind of blew it. I believe iowa was up 7 points with two to go or something and then carr and johnson made some plays while iowa missed fts down the stretch to get it to OT.

Every time there is a foul on Kofi and he has to shoot free throws, you can just see him tense up. (So do I !) He usually walks down the court with a team member, and I always think he is saying "Can you shoot these for me?"

Minny might be utterly hopeless on the road but they are extremely tough at home.

I wouldn't be upset at all if we dropped this one.
Ref, "extremely tough at home..."

All the more reason to post a "statement" win.

To morph a Sinatra lyric,
" if we can win there, we can win anywhere...."

Here is the stretch that will define us as contenders or pretenders. Three road kills = a date with scUM for B1G Champs.

KenPom giving us a 66% chance of victory. Minny is freakishly good at home.

I think we win but continuing to play to the level of our competition is a recipe for an early out in the tourney. We need to dominate lesser teams.....period!

Minnesota has talent so I don't think there is room for playing down to talent here. We either stomp them or it's a tight one

Think this game is the toughest out of this 3 road games in one week stretch (sorry, [not sorry] Badgers). If we win this one, I like our chances of going 3 for 3. Just have to play more like the end of the Nebraska game/beginning of then NU game, and not like the rest of the last 2 games!

Why even post it? To sound smart if we lose? Or just to instigate? There's no other reason.

I may disagree with his opinion, but that doesn't mean he doesn't get to post.
That being said, Illini by 9. These last two games and the adversity can make a team grow and sharpen the edge. In the past, we would have dropped the last two games.
That's my opinion, and it's an uneducated one. Fire away.

Good teams find ways to win games they maybe shouldn't....like our last two games. Great teams step on those teams' throats.

You step on those teams' throats by making FT's and taking care of the basketball when the inevitably start playing harder to make a run at you.

We sort of stepped on this teams throat earlier this year...by shooting really well (53% and 37% 3pt). We still turned it over (14) and fouled too much (27). They only shot 62% FT's to our 68%.

If we commit that many fouls and have 14 turnovers again in their barn....we will need another SuperAyo finish. I think this team knows it has to be better to accomplish their goals.

Yeah, of course, but...meh. If it was a post with some actual insightful opinion on why it's being chocked up as a loss, ok. But it's not. It's the first post of this pre game thread with only two reasons...the one's I mentioned...to make it.

How on earth could you say you'd be "shocked" to beat a team you blew out just two months ago? Not logical.
We'll likely be favored by Vegas as well.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. I love the back and forth.
