Which of the following teams most grates on your sensibilities. A Illinois victory over which team gives you the greatest satisfaction, bordering on elation. :)
Missouri
Duke
Iowa
or Indiana
Hard to answer, but I think of it this way:
1) Present day: with Tilmon, Smith, and Pickett snubs, I want to win this one badly. Not just win, but crush!
2) Will forever take a win over Duke and be happy

Hawkins is going to be good. However he is currently lacking confidence or feels the team doesn't the team does not have confidence in him. He plays decent d and is an excellent passer but does not have confidence in his shot. Don't know how to change that but if he hits a couple of shots he may start getting more court time. Think he is going to be solid down the road.

I agree he's been soft on offense. He was wide open at one point and was looking everywhere for someone to pass to. I also think this is a bit of him trying to be a role player. Understanding we don't need him to be a threat on offense, but rather have a defensive presence. His time will come.

KenPom's algorithm still clearly places a lot of emphasis on home court, it seems.
And it still has preseason gunk messing with it's numbers (which probably messes with both teams). Mizzou is good this year and it's at their house, but if we play with urgency we will win a good game.

I’m pretty sure I contradict myself every season and end up saying both Miznoz and Iowa are my personal most hated rival, depending on who is up next in the schedule.

How is the TV broadcast still TBD? I need to know where I can watch this game.
In a now-closed thread, someone mentioned they were able to get ahold of someone over at SEC Network, and they were told the game would be on the SEC alternate channel. Could still change, but that was the plan as of yesterday.

Sure, but how do they fix it? What portion of the home court advantage is home court fans? I doubt there is a good way to calculate that answer, especially this early in the season.

That’s where I’m at. Before I joined this board, I’d say it was Iowa, but Missouri is now neck and neck. Indiana is really not much more important to me than most other B1G schools Some of that is probably because doesn’t seem like they’ve been that good of late. Always good to beat a blue blood/ranked team and Duke is probably near the top of those for me, but Kansas might be at the top of that list because it means beating Self.

One way to reach the SEC Network alternate channel is through the ESPN App. That worked for me last night.

I am not sure there exists a good way to fix it. This is so unprecedented that they will probably have to look at the data after the fact and adjust the various constants/weights in their models to see how much things like that mattered. It would be a pretty fascinating question to answer. I am not sure anyone will bother, though, because next season will probably (hopefully) be more or less normal-ish.

As I said yesterday, I just heard back from the SEC, the basketball associate commissioner said it is going to be on the SEC alternate network. This channel on Direct TV 611-1. It is now posted on Direct TV channel guide as 611-1 at 7pm ...................

North Carolina highly ranked on my hate list primarily because of their consistent cheating and getting away with it. 2004-05 put a cap on it.

I'm going to have to go with Duke on this one. I long for the day that the National Media talk about Illinois as a powerhouse and that for the narrative not to be about our down decade (and a half). The ACC and Duke in particular are more synonymous with being Nationally relevant and so notching that win is better for our overall reputation. I'd like to see us notch wins over Kansas, UNC, and Kentucky next for similar reasons.

In conference, I always want to beat Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan the most because I have friends and family that went to those schools. The rekindling of the rivalry with Iowa last season adds some glow to that matchup this year so it'll be especially fun to watch.

Sorry -- it's the archrival Hoosiers hands-down (predicated upon the heated battles between Lou and Bobby). Add to that Quinn Buckner and Isaiah going to Bloomington instead of Champaign....and each winning a national title while there. Then sprinkle on the despise for Steve Alford, Randy Wittman, Ted Kitchel, Calbert Cheaney, Daryl Thomas, Alan Henderson, Keith Smart, Jay Edwards, and Damon Bailey.

They lead the all-time series 93-88, thanks to winning 7 of the last 9 games. We are, in essence, mirror image programs and were ranked the #5 and #6 NCAA basketball programs of all-time by ESPN just 13 years ago. And yet, Indiana has 3 national championships and is/was considered a blue chip program.

Jealousy, I guess..........
