I would not discount this team just because they are in a bad stretch. This team won the B10 title last year with the same exact team...

Based on Hoiberg post-game comments, I would expect Nebraska to try and slow themselves down to a crawl tomorrow night. If we speed them up, the wheels should come off. They tried over and over again to go one on one against Wiscy and they just don't have the talent for it.

nailed it on Adam and progression...I stated before that I see a distinct correllation between Ace and Aaron Henry @ MSU......But I think Ace is already a better defender than AH as far as frosh comparison....Ace will become a solid rim driver, maybe not this season but soon as his confidence grows....

The unbalanced schedule really helped WI last year. The oft touted 8 game win streak to close out the season was against the bottom 8 teams in the league. Winning 8 in a row is still an achievement. It wasn't anywhere near as impressive as it sounds. I think WI is between 4th and 6th best in the BIG this year.

While I will agree with you that Wisconsin is definitely a good team that is simply having a bad stretch, part of that conference title was a favorable schedule. Two other teams (MSU and Maryland) tied them for first, and we were one game away from a share of the title. Look at those four teams' schedules last year:
WISC: 5 games vs. top 5 in B1G (2-3), 7 games vs. bottom 4 in B1G (6-1)
MSU: 7 games vs. top 5 in B1G (5-2), 4 games vs. bottom 4 in B1G (5-1)
UMD: 7 games vs. top 5 in B1G (5-2), 6 games vs. bottom 4 in B1G (6-0)
ILL: 7 games vs. top 5 in B1G (2-5), 5 games vs. bottom 4 in B1G (4-0)
A title is a title, but when one game is meaning so much at the end of the year, racking up 6 wins vs. the cellar dwellers (compared to our undefeated 4...) and dodging two more games than the rest of the contenders with the top teams makes a huge difference.
You can just look at the Nebraska players and see that they sat for a month. They look "in shape" for dudes on the street, but not for D-1 basketball players in February.
If we make them work, we should pull away pretty easily in the 2nd half. As long as we don't get caught looking past them, it should be fun.

Can anyone explain why the Michigan women are playing tonight but the mens team couldn’t play us tonight? It was my understanding the entire athletic program was under the same Covid restrictions.

It's quite simple: the Michigan women are confident they will win tonight.
That’s what I was thinking!
The restriction expired on Sunday. The women though they had enough time to prepare for a game. The men's team is ducking us.
My superstitious self is looking to break down some barriers. If we lose today, blame me first, then the refs, then BU, and then, if necessary, Nebraska.

Here in Southeast MN, it was -12 for the morning commute, and we'll get up to a balmy high temp of -2 today... needless to say, I am glad we managed to get a game on the schedule, because I plan to be plopped next to the fireplace for the duration of the evening regardless
I don't blame them for not wanting to play us when we are hot and they've not played for 2+ weeks. What I don't get is why they don't seem to be making an effort for reschedule any of the five games they have missed.
I guess I will move the TV out on the screened in porch, and watch the game after the sunset.
Mostly, I just want us to win. But I'm really hoping we take control early and show why we are #6 in the country.

The constraints are relatively simple.
- According to the initial B1G schedule, the final games of the regular season are scheduled to happen on March 7.
- B1G tournament begins on March 10.
- There are 23 days left (2/13-3/7) for Michigan to play 11 games.
- The Wisconsin game is Sunday (2/14) and probably won't be moved at this late date.
- Michigan probably won't agree to play back-to-back games coming right out of their pause, so no games on 2/13 or 2/15.
- So there are really 20 days left (2/16-3/7) for Michigan to play 10 games.
- Michigan needs to play every other day to get all the remaining games in.
- Assuming one day rest between each game, Michigan must play the first of its ten games on 2/17 at the latest (first game on 2/17 and last game on 3/7).
- If no additional games scheduled before Rutgers (2/18), Michigan will be forced into at least one back-to-back.
- If no additional games scheduled before OSU (2/21), then Michigan will be forced into at least two back-to-backs.
Look at how the conference higher ups bent over backwards to get the TO$U into the football championship game.
I think the mess the B1G made of the rules during the football season explains why we have as few rules as possible this time. OSU was clearly the best team in the league, and the original rules disqualified them from proving that. I cannot guess how this will all turn out this time around. If we go 15-4 while Michigan goes 14-1, I assume Michigan gets the title. If they go 9-6 while we go 12-7, we clearly finish ahead of them, It is 12-3 vs 15-4 that gets messy.

Perhaps better to be rested for the Big Ten and NCAA tournament, that is where the money is. I would tend to doubt one should see any back to back games or games played on only one day's rest.

While I am not putting this down as a 100% slam dunk win, the most confident about a game this conference season. Nebraska is a fairly lost looking team, on long break in January. Best win against... South Dakota? They play with some energy but have pretty much no offensive umph. To win I think we would need to be sleepwalking for 35+ minutes with 3 of their players having season-high performances. Not impossible but I just don’t see it. I think we stay locked in, but uncomfortably close (4 point game) by halftime and pull away in the 2nd.
