If Kofi plays we are worried about Nance? Why? Is this just due to his outside shot ability? Kofi can dominate the pain offensively and defensively.

We don’t have a great 4 guard and Young worries me more than anyone. Especially if we have a lineup where Grandison has to guard him. God help him. He can post up well but had really quick feet. He’s not gonna face up and blow by Grandison but Jake isn’t ready for that kind of post play. I expect Hawkins to be on him, or play some combo of Kofi-BBV/Payne at the 5/4

Order of biggest problems:
1. Young (matchup more than skill)
2. Audige (killed us last time, really skilled and pretty lengthy)
3. Nance

I will be shocked if we see Kofi and Payne or BBV on the floor at the same time. Has that happened even once this season? I feel like yes, maybe once, but I can't remember when...

If Young and Nance play together, that might be a problem. Of course, they have to guard us too.

How does Chet Holmgren make the watch list based on high school/club and not Trent based on 4 yrs of B1G grinding?
We all know Trent should be on the watch list, but Holmgren is on the list because he’s like 7th in nation in blocks per game not what he did in high school. The issue is the makers of these lists are pretty lazy and basically just look at stats (steals and blocks). If they actually watched games they’d see Trent’s impact, but his 1.4 spg don’t leap off the page.

I heard we had been working on our jumbo/rebounding package, but then injuries happened.
Hawkins - PG
BBV - SG
Lieb - W
Payne - W
Kofi - C
Part of me hopes they've done that in a scrimmage just to see what happens when the other team is all guards.

This game, especially at NW, always scares me. NW is a team that always puts up a fight, but seems to barely fall short. I'll be in attendance (I'm sure our fans will be at least 50% of the house)....this is a game that I just want out of the way with a W.
I live in Evanston and have shared season tickets, mostly to get my eyes on other B1G squads and our boys but I really like the stadium renovation and I must say that NU has a pretty solid group this year. Their strength is the 4 spot (our weakness) with Pete Nance & Elyjah Williams providing an inside/out combo. Ryan Young would get destroyed by Kofi but he'll be a load for BBV, though maybe Payne will have an edge with his length. Robbie Beran and Ty Berry split the wing minutes...Beran is long and can shoot it and Berry has a motor for days. In my opinion we have a real edge in the guard department. They have Boo Buie who is streaky but capable and Chase Audige (same but has battled a hip injury), Ryan Greer who's just steady and the other guys are freshmen...Simmons, Roper & Barnhizer...good, but not killers yet.

They ALWAYS battle us tough in Evanston. Here's to hoping we have the firepower to hold them off. They've lost several games by 5 points or less, so they won't be playing nice. Collins' job shouldn't be, but probably is on the line at this point.
