Starting lineup:

* Harris, S
* Rogers, T
* Shannon Jr, T
* Mayer, M
* Hwakins, C
don't get me wrong, I love Harris' energy and D he brings to a game but other than UCLA and NW, what other 2 0r 3 games did you come away saying, he MUST start?
for now, he's better off the bench. Not much of an outside shot and good lord, those FT's. Can you imagine Daine and him out there? Gotta have Epps starting, to me no question about it.
also, did you notice who was in at the end of the game? RJ. Albeit, for only 20 seconds and for D and FT's but BU took out Mayer for him with the game still very much on the line. I think that says something too. Keep building the confidence and that kid still has a chance to be a key part to our run.

I won't be surprised if this is the best game of Epps's young career. He strikes me as someone who has that MJ/Kobe gene where they transform their failures into fuel and come out absolutely focused and looking for blood the following game. He also had 14 against OSU last time out.

I’m gonna counter that this game time is ideal.

1. Set your DVR
2. Go to church
3. Stay off social media
4. Come home and watch the entire game with no commercials

You get to keep your priorities (church over sports) and you don’t have watch commercials. My service ends around 1130 and I get home around 1140. With a 30-40 minute head start in college basketball, you’re back to live by the last couple minutes or at worst like 5 minutes behind (the game ends for you 5 minutes after it ends in real time).

For anyone wondering, to accomplish the same timing with college football, you need about 45 minutes to an hour. This is the only way I watch sports now.

I have two young kids so the bedtime process is always going on during weekday evening games. I basically watch every game on DVR once they are asleep.

You miss seeing the live reactions either on the game thread or on twitter, but it's nice to skip commercials and halftime. I also mute text notifications from my dad during games so he doesn't spoil things for me lol.

I know people like to criticize him, but I still think Hwakins has a great shot at the NAB.
I, too, would love to see Hawk make a National Association of Basketball (😁) roster…

My favorite Illini this year.

Since the lid is now well off the jar, I'll dive in.

A strong argument exists that we all are drawn to competitive sports because they involve individual and team effort in striking a hard-to-hit goal. The roots of the word "sin" in at least a couple ancient languages, IIRC, mean "missing the mark." Thus, we love sports (perhaps subconsciously) because they exalt the careful focus on hitting the mark, and involve athletes who devote single-minded focus, and deferral of gratification, to doing so individually and in cooperation with their teammates. Those who hit the mark are exalted; we feel exhilaration in, and admiration of, their excellence and they set an example for us to follow. I credit Jordan Peterson for most recently advancing this idea.

Which leads me to the unavoidable conclusion that Ohio State is positively drenched in sin this season, as The Beloved were during the first 28 minutes of last night's game. :ROFLMAO:

I'll see myself out.
This is the kind of hard hitting analysis that keeps me coming back.

We play to the level of our competition, are 3-4 on the road in the Big Ten (with wins @Nebraska, @Wisconsin, and @Minnesota), and tend to start slow. It’s easy to get lost in the sugar rush of a thrilling comeback, but this is a team still looking for an identity 20+ games into the schedule, Now would be a good time to temper expectations.

I expect this to be a dogfight.

A head's up for anyone that's going to watch via Dish - they are having major issues. zero customer service available. I've called multiple numbers. Rumor is they've been hacked. I cannot access ESPN or cbs through Roku. May have to sign up for YouTube in the morning if it's not fixed.

Smart a$$. ;) Why do you think I posted it?! You've been a relative stranger this season. The GIF game on this board has gone to absolute he!! as a result (speaking of sin.)
Work has been crazy and start times don't lend themselves to me watching full games. I'm either still at work or putting my kids to bed.

OSU's last 10 results, using the NET rankings:

W 93-77 vs. #46 Iowa
L 60-69 at #32 Illinois
L 70-86 at #20 Indiana
L 60-65 vs. #70 Wisconsin
L 69-77 at #53 Michigan
L 41-62 vs. #35 Michigan State
L 75-92 at #46 Iowa
L 55-82 at #5 Purdue
L 71-75 vs. #56 Penn State

The only home blowout was against Michigan State. What also stands out to me is that after being utterly decimated at Purdue, they turned around and fought Penn State to the wire ... the Buckeyes do not appear to have given up yet, and I expect a close game.

With that said, this is nothing short of a must win. Period, period, period. Even just from a psychological standpoint, if you lose this one after the emotional high of that comeback vs. Northwestern, we can give up on any substantial dreams, IMO. The NU comeback HAS to serve as some sort of momentum starter for this group ... it just has to.
