The thing I love about Lucas, Leron and Nichols is the energy they bring at all times. Even if Kipper plays 10 mins, his energy and push help withstand and limit the big runs we were giving up in the beginning of the year.

In a dead environment coming down from a big win, this energy will be needed more than ever.

Please don't pull a Total Illinois Move and drop this game. Pretty sure the Coaching Carousel thread would reach 300 pages if that happened.

Seating chart: http://www.scarletknights.com/tickets/rac-seating.html

The RAC seats 8,000, about half the size of the Assembly Hall.:D

I'll be near those sections as well. Crazy to think that a few weeks ago there was no chance I was going to make the three hour drive, but now I feel like I'd regret it if I didn't take in the Malc show one last time.

Anyone know any good spots to eat/drink before the game around Rutgers?

1st in conference rebounding/o rebounding though, which tends to be how they get their offense. Have to be prepared to battle on the glass. Almost 15 a game! Also, 4th in steals.

Also, noteworthy that we are 13th in scoring, rebounding, and FTA

Reasons we're in a position to win 2 more and get in the dance:

1. Defensive turnaround
2. Tate-less
3. Thorne-less
4. Freshman PT

Grove to blame for the valley. Grove gets credit for making the changes, however late we all believe they may have come.

ILL. 76
RUT. 62

Go Illini!!!!

Personally, I don't think it's "less Tate" as much as it is "more Lucas". He has been an absolutely perfect fit for our (desperate) needs.

Rutgers is tougher than their history and record might indicate. They're playing very hard, but just haven't learned how to win at the end of close games yet.

I think they finally found the right coach. Steve Pikiell was a longtime Calhoun assistant and the coach of the Stony Brook team we visited and beat in the NIT several years back.

I'll be there and figure our momentum and defense will pull us through, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull a Day One upset at the BTT.

I saw Rutgers almost beat Northwestern in Evanston. They seem better than a 2 win team to me. The Illini will need to be ready to play. I think they will be.

Actually, I don't think I've been to an illini sporting event without her since we met in late 1967. (Hockey was perhaps the best. It cost 50 cents to get in and the rink was unheated, meaning yeah, we had to warm up afterwards). :D

I've been told by some who works/teaches at Rutgers that these are good places for breakfast/lunch:

Hansel and Griddle
Caffebene
Skylark Diner
Hidden Grounds Coffee

Of course, going in wearing Orange might get you a reaction like this: We don't serve their kind here.

Rutgers is definitely dangerous. Also took Wisconsin to OT at the garden I believe.

In their last 18 games, Rutgers is 2-16. Close doesn't count. You are what your record says you are. Rutgers is abysmal. We lose this one, we deserve the roasting that will follow.

Interesting to note for all the talk of the "down " Big Ten, Rutgers is the first 100+ ranked team (RPI, Pomeroy or Sagarin) that Illinois will have played since the Braggin' Rights game.

I would love to see this board not overreact if we go down a few points.

This team (as of late) has shown the ability to give and take a lead and still end up on top.

MM baby hook, TJL's court vision, LB's rebounding, KN's defense and athleticism, MH refuse to lose attitude...

I can't wait

Must keep winning.... The MSU game was so important; biggest of the year, but given the stakes this is even bigger.

It's ours to lose.

I don't know how many tickets are still available, but the Illini Nation should be scooping then up. If rutgers' basketball fans are anything like their football fans, we could make it an Illini home game.

Cmon NY Illini Club, you have one job to do. Pack the place.

Connecticut, New Jersey, southern NY, Maryland, Delaware, Eastern PA... This is a day trip. Tickets are available for as little as $15 each. Bring the kids. Dress them in Orange. Make the RAC the UIAC. :clappy:

Where can I find these $15 tickets?

I'll drive there, from Chicago, for these games.
