The first two games back they lost and he played 17 min and 4 min respectively, so I wouldn't put those losses on him. The other losses were #18 Texas A&M (twice), @#2 Alabama, @ #12 Tenn, #23 UK at home. He's a high volume scorer, if we can make him uncomfortable, it *should* result in a lot of empty possessions for them.

Arkansas is not a good 3 point shooting team. We have good 2pt defense defense matchup imo

We got the seed we earned, and we were going to get a tough draw in any of those 8/9 games. They are long and athletic but lean heavy on 2 frosh and don’t look terribly deep with their injuries. Seems like older teams that execute well have given us the most trouble this year.
We have several guys who should be able to match up with their frosh. Not the worst matchup really. Hard to feel like we deserved a better draw given the way we finished. Let’s go!

Just started looking but the last time we were in the West region was 2007 when we lost as a 12 seed to VA Tech in Columbus.

Last win for Illini in West region was as a 4 seed in 2003. Defeated Western Kentucky in the 1st round in Indy before losing to Notre Dame.

On the plus side, pretty darn glad we dodged Memphis. Honestly, it's nice to be completely under the radar. We're not an upset waiting to happen and we aren't expected to do much. Quite literally no one is talking about us. The incredible thing about this tournament is right now there are endless possibilities. Every single year something absolutely wild happens. As I've said previously, the last couple of years I had high expectations and instead, we fell flat. This year, I have zero expectations. I'm just ready to try and enjoy every single second of basketball we have left. And you never know, this could be the year we finally make it back to the second weekend.
