If we come mentally ready to play we win by 10. Full stop. I don’t care what transfers they have. We always run to us getting screwed by the NCAA. We were the co-champs of a conference that got 9 teams in. This team shouldn’t beat us
Just another ROAD GAME. Against poorer teams than in the BIG. Refs are always a concern with Kofi.

If we’re scared or Chattanooga and Houston we don’t belong in the tourney.

Looks like a great draw for us.
While I agree with you that if we're afraid, we don't belong in the tournament, that doesn't mean it's not a bad draw. We struggle against teams with size, and/or super athletes. Well, that's exactly what we got pitted against.

I may be mistaken, but I believe he was getting about the same minutes on that team as Payne is on ours. He wasn’t dominating the roster.
Wonder if Bill gave him Pink Eye while he was at Kansas:)

Are there a lot of teams out there who say “we really don’t match up well with short teams with poor athletes”?

It really doesn’t matter who we drew, these are all teams that are playing to stay alive. You have to beat “the very best” to stay and continue playing. If you don’t play them this round, you will play them in the next round. At this stage of play, you can’t afford to have a “bad game” or your season is done. You cannot try to look forward to the next round or you will get your butts kicked and be done in this round.
Go Illini…. Just play lights out and kick-butt!!!

The team worked its butt off and got a little luck to be the number one seed in the big 10. Everything fell in place. Then we lost in the first round of Indiana. Seeding is important but it's not the end I'll be all.

I believe if the Illini bring their A game they can beat anybody and that includes houston. But the Orange and Blue got to bring the A game. This will include decent ball handling and plumber having his average game from behind the art

Did we, though? Check my post on the previous page. Don't take the selection show's comments at face value. They play three forwards. That doesn't necessarily mean that it'll be like playing Arizona or Maryland again, and it's not like Plummer needs big spacing from a 6' guy to get a good shot off.

Because I'm a nerd and pretty much watched all(or some) of the conference tournaments. The Chattanooga one stuck out because 1)They threw in a 35 footer to win it and 2)I remember seeing DeSousa. Isn't he the kid that left Kansas after that brawl? They didn't look overly big, but they sure seemed athletic....though it was against Furman.
