Same ones that schedule all of the games ... the TV networks.7:30 Central on a Thursday night? Who scheduled this? Must win if we are to progress as a program.
I thought part of the thought process was that it gets us an extra two days to prep for Wisconsin. Having a bye week before a game against an FCS school isn’t ideal.7:30 Central on a Thursday night? Who scheduled this? Must win if we are to progress as a program.
It goes bye week, Thursday game, following Saturday game, so it's kinda like two mini-byes.I thought part of the thought process was that it gets us an extra two days to prep for Wisconsin. Having a bye week before a game against an FCS school isn’t ideal.
That is a good point. Had not looked that far ahead in the schedule.I thought part of the thought process was that it gets us an extra two days to prep for Wisconsin. Having a bye week before a game against an FCS school isn’t ideal.

I love it. Plan on going down and watching a nighttime game!7:30 Central on a Thursday night? Who scheduled this? Must win if we are to progress as a program.
It's possible. We should definitely win this but are the Mocs the best of our three non-conference opponents?
I will worry about this game, as I do.
In particular I will worry that Chattanooga will have a late lead and seal a win on a blocked field goal, bringing things full circle from basketball.
I always thought that’s how the nfl should try to schedule their Thursday night games, for that mini bye reason. It goes bye week, Thursday game, following Saturday game, so it's kinda like two mini-byes.
We should 100% be sending free tickets to schools from Danville to Springfield and Peoria to EffinghamI always thought that’s how the nfl should try to schedule their Thursday night games, for that mini bye reason.
It actually started here, on December 19, 2020:Scary to think how bad attendance might be, but just get an easy W and move on to prepping for the Badgers! If we can win in Madison (for the first time in God knows how long…), I think the fans show up for Iowa. And winning the next three wouldn’t just be an amazing momentum boost as we try to build this program … it now looks shockingly doable!
It starts vs. Chattanooga! Clean things up in practice and continue to build confidence as a team.
THIS: All students in the state of Illinois get in free.....and no school on that Friday! We should 100% be sending free tickets to schools from Danville to Springfield and Peoria to Effingham
ESPN research from a few years ago said 95% of avid fans become fans of "their" team by age 17. Doing everything we can to get kids in the stands should be first on the list.We should 100% be sending free tickets to schools from Danville to Springfield and Peoria to Effingham
Pretty much the same story: Hollenbach, Gow, McCarren, Uremovich, Mike Wells, Tom Hicks, Sorey, Perrin and coach Blackman.ESPN research from a few years ago said 95% of avid fans become fans of "their" team by age 17. Doing everything we can to get kids in the stands should be first on the list.
My Illini fandom started at age 13 in 1973 when I went on a bus trip from my high school for a campus tour and football game. I was hooked and didn't even apply at any other school. Don't even know if they do things like that any more.
