Still trying to shake that loss off. So ugly. Not going to give up on the season this early, but if we face another high pressure, full court press defense like Loyola and Marquette and still haven’t figured out how to break the press, I can’t account for what happens to my TV.

Our entire offense is built around Kofi pick and rolls. His (exceptional) box score production is only part of the story, he opens up the game for everyone else, including ‘Belo. Would I have loved an easy W yesterday? Sure. But our “real” season starts in six days. I think there is a significant chance we win both games next week by double digits and a non-negligible chance a backboard gets shattered.

Brad would never admit this publicly, but I imagine part of him is thrilled to have a dumpster fire game like this so early in the season to check egos and light a fire under these guys.
This. Last night I thought of Providence in early Dec. 2003. Different circumstances but that rather woke the boys up. And we lost that one by ~20 to an unranked team. Happy to get this out of the way early.

Anybody hear why Melendez is not playing ?
I think a big part of it is trust from BU. He's played in both games before this one past, but circumstances were obviously not the same against Marquette.

Another aspect is there's a ton of quality ahead of him. Who's he going to take time from? Nobody at the point, I could see an argument for the 2-4 spots (though the 2 guard is a stretch). Trent, dmw, Grandison, plummer, and to an extent Hawkins all are ahead of him right now. Goode seems to be ahead of him as well.

He'll get his time. Maybe as the season goes on he steals minutes, his athleticism is very apparent and he's had some solid shots.

I feel like every year people need to remember the flashes we saw freshmen have against lesser opponents wont necessarily fare well against other premier schools. They need to get bigger and adjust to this level. Goode, who Brad has echoed his trust in, didn't even get tick. That says everything

I am most concerned about our guards. We are only 2 deep at PG. foul trouble or an off game is a liability. We need someone to step up who can handle the ball in emergencies

Time to put last night behind us and move forward. Kofi's return will obviously be welcome.

I'm expecting a much more fluid performance out of our kids next week.

I think there is merit to this post. We really want Trent and Curbello On the court at the same time. Plummer is really the issue as he is not giving us much at either end YET. Hutch will help. DMW, even though a guard size wise, we really use him as more a forward in the rotation with Jacob and Hawkins. It would be great to see Podz be able to help some as a ball handler but that is going to take playing time which is tough to get right now.

And one of those PGs has only 4 assists in three games.

Looking at the remaining schedule, there is a decent chance this team goes undefeated or maybe only loses one game all the way through the Minnesota game (3rd big ten game). Kofi and Hutch coming back is massive depth wise and for just overall scoring. This is a very good and talented team, everyone needs to trust in Brad. The loss tonight will help big time down the road.

Yeah, Underwood does what a lot of coaches do when nothing is working, he leans on his vets and his best players. He’s a conservative coach. It’s in his DNA.

I can't believe the game is on ESPNews. I downgraded my Comcast package and don't get that channel anymore. I always thought ESPNews was just for showing the start of games postponed on another channel due to overtime in the previous game. I guess I'll be forced to go to a sports bar and drink on a Monday night. Sucks to be me? I think not.
