yea
for once I would like to put a game away at the beginning of the second half and win going away by 17-24 points
If we do that and don't throw those stupid 35 yd. passes on 1st and second down, or the occasional trick play for negative yardage or a turnover, we should win. I do see Indiana getting more than 10 though. Against P. State they stayed in it a while and moved the ball. It would be nice for once if we could get a plus on the turnover side too.

Defense and special teams need to help out scoring

-- pick six
-- blocked punt
--kickoff return for TD
Defense has carried the team for 2 years now

Might not be direct scoring each game but they are directly keeping points off the board. Last game the offense turned the ball over 3 times. Two of those 3 drives the defense shut them down in three plays. More times than not the D has gone above and beyond. Time for the offense to catch up. If we can't score consistently than at least hold onto the ball so we can punt it away.

Will be on vacation for next 10 days, so submitting my prediction early. Unfortunately, also won't be able to watch the game.

24 ILL
18 IND

Illini unable to cover the 7 point spread, but come away with the home victory. We stay on course for a Bowl Game. Combined score will go over the 41.5 pts, perhaps easily. I feel like Altmyer will play, but I'll stick with the prediction, even if it's Paddock under center.

YTD:
5-4 against the spread
7-2 predicting the winner (missed the Maryland and Wisconsin games, back-to-back.)
Pretty sure you meant to say "...even if it's Paddock from the shotgun." That seems to be how Barry rolls these days.

This Illini team absolutely needs this home "W" to advance their bowl chances. While this Illini team has four wins by a total of only 12 points (vs. five losses by a total of 70 points), I believe this is their game to dominate. We're statistically better across the board than Indiana. Finally, a home B1G game where we will have good "football weather" and the wind isn't going to be a major factor.

Illini 28 (420 yds. offense)
IU 17 (290 yds. offense)

Is anyone familiar with the Green Bay area and know somewhere we can watch the game there Saturday? We will unexpectedly be up there now and hoping to find somewhere.

Any of the bigger sports bar around Lambeau will have all the BIG games showing. We personally like Stadium View bar and grill, watched the ILL-Wis game there last year and didn’t get to much slack for throwing out a few well timed I-L-L’s!!!!!! If you don’t want big sports bar feel, try Simonets.

Finally, a home B1G game where ... the wind isn't going to be a major factor.
Please let this be true. Cuz when wind is a factor, it always seems to be against us. (Also crossing my fingers for another game where we keep all our kickoffs in bounds.... Oh, and I would die and go to heaven if one of our guys were to plant a foot out of bounds and then be the first to touch one of Indinia's kickoffs.)

I believe they are capable of it, and I want to see a breakout game by the Illini. A four quarter revenge beatdown of the sowbelly eatin', moonshine swillin', gap toothed, twelve toed, gooch eyed, slobber jawed, varmint infested, mutterin', stutterin', mud bathin'. rusty tractor drivin', lowlife specimens known as Hoosiers. And that's sugar coating how I really feel. Go Illini!

Here’s the thing about Luke’s concussion: if he doesn’t go and Paddock is our starter for that game, we’ve got a few possibilities and really all of them cause some internal stress moving forward:
1. We win. If we win and we don’t win “in spite of” John Paddock, I think there’s gonna be some conflict as to Iowa starter. Indiana is an improving team and this could be a loss but if it’s a win, do you ride the momentum?
2. We lose. Then we have to beat Iowa for bowl eligibility and that’s a tough ask. But hey, at least we aren’t talking about Paddock for starter.

Plainfield
There will not be a QB controversy. Luke is our starter whether he plays against IU or not and no matter how well Paddock plays. Luke won the job over Paddock for a reason. As brilliant as Paddock looked against Minnesota it was a very different case against PSU

I hope we win and we see Minnesota Paddock but make no mistake, we’d have a better chance to win with Luke.
