My guess is other teams did not do this because they do not have a player like Edey. Ty is 6-6 with a 7 foot wingspan and also can jump extremely well, so in my opinion this isn't the same as when we saw teams play Jaylon Tate or Chester Frazier this way several years ago. Ty has more size, length and athletic ability.
So, my thought was: I'm guessing if they try this with a 6-10 guy that he'd simply attack the rim. But, a 7-4 guy, nope. That's why I said it will be interesting if MSU tries to play him that way, because so far, really the only team we've seen do this with success is Purdue.
