Even though the model has us favored big, these boarder war games always seem to be close no matter rankings (Missouri ranked 195...). Glad Bello is back to at least lifting weights. This team imo is hitting its stride right into the B1G season.

(15) ILL 75 89%
(195) MIZZ 61

Tournament Seed: 4

There is a great collection of Coca cola memorabilia on the wall. A set of old framed ads with athletes. Red is among them. Pretty cool, along with all the nostalgia in the place.
BLT is great. Chili better than skyline all day.
Truly is a candy store too. Many goodies to be had.
Finding a place to sit can be a challenge.

Missouri is known as the ‘Show-Me’ State.

One version of this saying is that those folks in Missouri possess a stubborn personality that demands that something must be proven to them before they’ll accept it as true.

Another version of this is that those in Missouri have be shown how to do things because they don’t know how to do things.

So in the context of the Big Game with Show-Me State U...

Whether someone living on the Left Side of the River possesses a stubborn need to be shown something before they’ll believe it... OR they simply need to be shown because they need to be shown...

IT’S TIME, ILLINI. SHOW THEM.
I like this. It might be a little of both. Can we change: :”…someone living on the LEFT side of the river to WEST of the river? Because if you’re facing south that makes us LEFT of the river…which would thus make us the skeptical/inept ones.

AND This simply cannot be. Because everyone who is anyone knows Illinois is inhabited by brilliant, open-minded individuals.

I live in the St. Louis area and have been to almost a dozen braggin rights games. Nothing stinks more as an Illinois fan than losing this game, especially if you live down here. They better stinkin win this one.

Another version is that they like to watch. I'm stickin' with that one.

This was the first Braggin’ Rights game we attended! It was unbelievably fun. The second was in 2016 when Malcolm Hill scored 21 and led the Illini to victory. Both games created memories that were special, exciting, and fun, with fans split about 50-50. Our crew went pregame to the amazing Ballpark Village both years, with the IFUND Fighting Illini party (with band and cheerleaders) was held that second time. All in all, the Braggin’ Rights has a fantastic atmosphere that I hope to be able to participate in again in my lifetime. Go :illinois:llini, beat Mizznoz! :chief: :hailtotheorange: :chief:

I was at the 2006 game. We had dinner at Charlie Gittos downtown (amazing place, I go there often), pregame drinks at the Adam's Mark Hotel bar and then stumble-walked over to the Scottrade in a huge swath of loud, boisterous Illini fans. Just a hell of a time. I smoked cigarettes at the time and the outside smoking area at halftime was packed with fans from both sides and you couldn't have a conversation because of the deafening, hilarious chants going back and forth at each other. One of the best times I've ever had a sporting event.
