Wish I could be at the game Saturday. Calling for 3-5 inches of snow. Driving up from Louisville just don't want to take a chance. Wish it was a 11 am game. If anyone has any news on weather living in the Champaign area let me know. With the snow it will be an interesting game. Cold windy snow. Go Illini. Win Friday and Saturday and the weekend will be great. Oh yes the Bears as well.

Even coming from 45 minutes its a tough sell for a night game. Im absolutely dying inside because I want to go so badly but have to be a responsible parent and say no. If we lived in town 100% would be there regardless of weather.

I was there and 30 years later Ty Douthard signed my ticket from that game which ended up in a framed tribute in my Illini mancave. 2024 tailgate Lot 31 pics with the tribute and Ty Douthard and Johnny Johnson (who threw the game winning pass to Ty).

Doesn't help that McCray left. Didn't seem to help him much, either. Hope the bag was heavy, at least.

IDK. He is on a team competing for a national championship. His role there is pretty clear as well, the short yardage back. Can't imagine him regretting moving on, IMO. I think he will have an important role in the CFP in tight games.

I am in similar position. I live in far west suburbs, and was planning to still make drive until I found out we have to get my toddler ear tubes on Friday. Responsible parenting says stay home.

My Dad is taking two tickets, but will likely have to eat my other two. I really fear tons of empty seats in a prime game on Fox. It is also sad for the Seniors to go out with a greatly diminished turnout. Just sad all around for a team playing to get an 8th win.

Weather forecast now 5-8 inches of snow and 15-25 mph winds. Not sure we’ll make the drive from Peoria if forecast deteriorates. Roads could get bad. There’s still time for forecast to improve a bit.

WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT
THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations in excess of
5 inches north of I-70...and greater than 8 inches along and north
of a Macomb to Bloomington line.

* WHERE...All of central Illinois along and north of I-70.

* WHEN...From late Friday night through late Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult

It’s probably a good thing the game is at 6:30 perhaps the snow will be done with by then. I’m sure the grounds crew will be able to clear the field before game time if it’s stopped. If it was earlier it would for sure be a mess

I am well aware of how Northwestern has played, and I am also aware of how Illini fans like to cry, throw tantrums, and say how everything about Illinois football is terrible and the absolutely worst whenever they have a bad loss. It was a bad loss to Wisky for sure, but we’ve bounced back from bad losses this season pretty well.
I see the main issue as Illini fans always buy into the hype. No way this team was ever a CFP contender. But the media and BB sold it and many of our fans bought it.
So it’s natural for those fans to be disappointed.
