My biggest remaining hope for attendance is that during the summer, this DID look like one of the coolest Illini home games to attend in several years (likely since Zook was here, honestly), so I am hopeful that a lot of out-of-town fans simply picked it as a weekend trip to Champaign and will therefore still show ... that certainly describes my wife and me!

I just hope the DIA still tries to promote the heck out of this thing and make sure Grange Grove is poppin'. Big Noon Kickoff pregame show or not, I'm sure there will still be aerial footage of Grange Grove and Memorial Stadium on that broadcast, as we ARE still the game at 11:00 am CST on FOX. Huge opportunity to showcase our gameday environment, which - unfortunately - is currently an afterthought in the college football world. Time to change that! I'm certainly excited to get on the road Friday.
That’s me too! Me & the fam flying in from Scottsdale for this one.

Porous defense and a one man offense in Luke spells big trouble. Just hoping Luke doesn't get killed! PSU-56-ILLINI 6
Wouldn't say a 1 man offense in luke.the receivers have shown they can make plays when luke has the time to go through his reads the o line has been killing our offensive drives by not getting no push for our running backs and not protecting luke long enough for him to not have to get hit on at least half his throws.if we can somehow fix the o line our offense will flourish just my 2 cents.

On the bright side we still have Gus Johnson on the call. About the only positive.
Oh My God Wow GIF by reactionseditor

That is a positive? I have to hit mute on almost all his calls. Good news is that I will sync Illini radio to television.

After spending last week convinced we were going to smoke Kansas, I can’t let myself get sucked in again. I don’t see any scenario that we win this game let alone cover a 14 point spread. I hate to say it, but:

PSU 35
ILL 17
Amen......didn't think of Toledo and Kansas as powerhouse teams....Good , but neither team ranked in Top 25. Nows our chance with Penn S., show us what ya got.... PSU 48 ILL 10

PSU 42
Illini 17

Not so sure Mr. Henry is up to the job.......no pressure on QB, giving up 500++ yards, poor defensive back play.....yadda yadda.

I sincerely hope that your predictions, in both magnitude and direction, continue to be accurate!

I guess it could be worse, we could all be Jets fans. Talk about getting kicked in the gonads today (have at it gif makers) Rodgers out for the year.
Or Bear fans. We just came to the realization that we not only are lacking a QB for the future, we also see that our coaching staff is clueless.

At least this Illini football program is heading in the right direction and gaining momentum!!

What happened to the vaunted "Law Firm"?? Had an old coach tell me what I could wipe with the hype before a game/season. Both lines are struggling.

PSU 45 - Illini 17
Newton looked the part last game. Randolph left a heck of a lot to be desired. Still time to turn it around but two games is a start of a trend. I think Avery left bigger shoes than most anticipated.

Defense will look a little better (would be hard to look worse), but offense will continue to struggle running the ball. Hope that I'm wrong.
PSU 31 - Illini 16

Our running game averaged 5 yards per carry against Kansas. Our problem was that we fell into a hole early and didn’t have the chance to run the ball all that much.

Cannot wait for Saturday and our big upset of PSU. Since Tommy Devito is already in New York, could he possibly by hired by the Jets as a backup? This reminds me of the Trent Green and Kurt Warner situation which gave Kurt Warner his shot.

Unfortunately I think they are going to get blown out.

I'll wait to make a prediction until midweek after we find out if there will be any injury issues, and if we learn anything more from Bret on changes to the O-line. Even though it's reactionary, based on how we've looked the past 2 weeks, a 14pt line for PSU seems a little high but not too egregious. I'd probably have put it at 11pts to account for home field myself as 17pts on neutral does seem a bit much, but I certainly wouldn't call Illinois a value bet at 14.

Really this comes down to whether our defense and linebacking corps can make the major changes needed to stop the run and whether we can patch together the right side of our o-line. If we can, Illinois is a solid bet ATS. If we can't, take PSU in a heartbeat.
If i was where i could bet i would put my house on Penn St minus 14. This will be ugly fast.

right now, we dont have one player making any all B1G team
that could rightfully change, but right now we are very generic at every position
