I'm considering going to our second round game on Saturday, I've never been to a march madness game so I was curious when that game would be? If that's not been released yet, when will it be released?

So, on-paper, we're the superior team by a good margin.

...But if "on-paper" was the only thing that mattered, then upsets wouldn't exist.

Penn finished the year red-hot, winning 9 out of their last 10 and winning the Ivy League tournament. I'm not one to underestimate any team, especially not a team like Penn who will clearly be motivated to try to upset a #3 seed.

If we take care of the ball and actually keep any big leads that we're fortunate enough to attain, then, yeah, this should probably be a comfortable win. But after the way we ended the year, it's hard to say whether or not that will actually happen. Sure hope it will, though. Go Illini.

losing Cason hurts them more than most people think......there was a reason Cason was getting more tick than McKinny.......McKinny is good but he isn't as stable with the ball as Cason was..............jmho........
Off topic... Pru, did you know your favorite ref (DJ) is retiring after this year. This will say something about the BIG10 officiating, I thought he was one of the better ones this year

When you watch Pitino coaching St Johns, he is standing on the sideline giving instruction to his team. Same with Hurley. OTOH Brad sits in his chair like he is watching cricket on the lawn sipping wine. idk.
I recall coach Weber getting ripped for this on here all the time

Watched the second half of Big East Championship and can confirm. Hurley and Pitino were standing and coaching the whole time

Wagler has been a little too passive since the return of Boswell. If he goes into the tourney with the same mindset he had for the Purdue game, then I believe we can (and will) make a deep run.

I hope he hasn't lost confidence in his 3pt shot and its more of a "I'm the PG, I need to create shots for others" type of deal.

Any team you play as a high seed by definition is gonna be hot because they all won their conference tourneys.

I love LaTulip’s thoughts on this team and the need for toughness and the shift in their defensive mindset, reactive vs controlling the offensive player’s direction.
One more comment on this: Forcing the offense to be uncomfortable or dictating to them or however you want to phrase it starts with Kylan Boswell. He needs to get up into people without drawing technicals. If the point guard wants to go left, MAKE him go right. If he wants to drive, STAY IN FRONT OF HIM! Don’t play 6-8 feet off a guy, let him see the entire floor with a clear mind, and be free to make easy decisions. Kylan HAS to make the point guard uncomfortable. Make it difficult for him. Make a guy have to make difficult or challenged passes. He has that ability. He hasn’t done it.

There’s obviously more to team defense than that, but it starts with how you guard the opposition’s point guard. Most often that is Kylan. He needs to bring it defensively.
