Pu isn’t missing 3’s against Rutgers.
Any word on Morez? Believe it was mentioned Purdue might be the staff’s hope to get him back, but it seems so fast. But then again, Fletch is a witch doctor.
Thanks, keep us posted on an occasional score.Pu isn’t missing 3’s against Rutgers.
They can really score in a hurryPu isn’t missing 3’s against Rutgers.
Purdue: I don't think they'll hit 11/17 from three IN A HALF again this season!KN will have his hands full on Friwith Smith. State Farm needs to go crazy Friday. Watch the film what Auburn did to Pu. Gosh we scored 62 against Mi. You hit shots and rebound you win.
The more we play without him, the more it's apparent we need him. Morez has never really played like a freshman--he's very strong and a tenacious rebounder.Morez got his cast off yesterday and was making a fist and moving his wrist without pain so he is ready to get back to work now.
Careful...Morez got his cast off yesterday and was making a fist and moving his wrist without pain so he is ready to get back to work now.
If the staff can make the adjustment, Ivisic and Morez would be great with high-low action as well. There's absolutely a way to incorporate Morez into the offense to maximize his strengths and still spread the floor for 3s.The more we play without him, the more it's apparent we need him. That is why you have to bring the defense with you every game. The offense comes and goes.Even with us taking and missing more 3’s, we still have a better offensive efficiency than Michigan St. We’re ranked 14 on offense on KenPom, they’re ranked 32.
Defense is the difference. They have the #5 defense and ours is #33.
I like your post, and it made me remember Lou Henson. He used the double stack offense a lot, which included plenty of high-low action. A little bit of a primer for those wanting to learn more about the high-low from a 3 out, 2 in (or maybe a 4 out 1 in is how Illinois would run it from a pick and pop) offensive set.

That can also work to our benefit, because I can see them coming in here overly confident….I wish Rutgers would have given PU a tougher time. PU was shooting fish in a barrel. We play defense we win. They do a lot of screen and roll offense. Have to stay with your man.
That 2-pt MSU loss in EL we could have won easily despite shooting 21% (and without KJ for 30+ mins) because, as we did Saturday, we crashed the boards heavily, though they did, too.Quicker to look up losses 3 pg %. We have only lost twice when we shot over 30%. Our season average is 30% so not suprisingly when we shoot poorly we lose.
Alabama neutral 33%
@ NW 27%
Tennesee 17%
USC 21%
@MSU 21%
Maryland 21%
@Nebraska 24%
@Rutgers 21%
MSU 21%
@Wisconsin 33%
Duke 8%
What is surprising is KB who shot +38%,39% in AZ past 2 years is shooting 22% for Illini
KJ in recent losses 3pg% - Duke 0-4, @ Wis 0-1 @MSU 2-9 @ Rug 0-2 @ Neb 3-10 MD -04, @MSU 0-2
Does this give Braden Smith homecourt advantage now?View attachment 40259
Was reminded about this by boots on the ground. Should be an, uh, interesting student section either way
Appreciate that. Bill Self used a lot of high-low at Illinois (and still does at Kansas). Brian Cook in the high-low was really good. Ivisic at the top of the high-low is an absolute weapon.I like your post, and it made me remember Lou Henson. He used the double stack offense a lot, which included plenty of high-low action. Peace, brother.

I'd prefer we didn't rush him. I can't wait for him to be back on the floor, but not at the risk of a bigger re-injury. That's bad for him and us.Morez got his cast off yesterday and was making a fist and moving his wrist without pain so he is ready to get back to work now.
Can’t imagine this staff would allow him to play if there’s was a major risk of reinjuryI'd prefer we didn't rush him. I can't wait for him to be back on the floor, but not at the risk of a bigger re-injury. That's bad for him and us.
Unofficial will always be the greatest made up holiday ever imagined, in my opinion. An excuse to get hammered on the Friday before spring break starts? The whole student body is drunk and partying? Usually coinciding with Engineering Open House so there tons of high school kids with their parents innocently wandering around campus?View attachment 40259
