PSU had not had any time to prepare for it and refused to send two or three more linemen onto the field. Rutgers will not make the same mistake. We have to hope that our OL depth is better than Rutgers DL depth. They will only need a couple of db's against a formation like that as we will have no wr's in that formation.
Without coming out and saying he couldn't believe that Penn State didn't adjust their personnel, he did say that they ran it a lot more than they planned because of the success they were having. I also think Rutgers will do a much better job of defending it and we'll see a lot less of that formation, as was the plan with Penn State.
Is Matt Robinson still on the team and or a qb?
I believe so, but in all of the mentions of a depth chart in media Johnson has been mentioned before Robinson. I’ve seen nothing from Robinson that would lead me to believe the team has much of a chance with him playing. Then again, Peters hasn’t been good either.

Loren played fast pitch softball when he was in Hammond, IN back in the early 60's. He played for a team called NIPSCO. My dad was the pitcher on the team. He was a legend when writing for the Hammond Times.
I've wondered about him as well. This being game 9 he could see the field from now until end of season without burning a redshirt. Maybe that's what the staff has in mind. If not I'd be worried about him. If he's not better, or at least as good as the 4 ahead of him that's a really bad sign given how bad the QB's have performed.

I don’t know anything about him or how he’s looked, but I’d guess as the number 5 QB on the roster he’s probably not taken a single snap with the 1’s. He’d have to be exceptional to move up the depth chart while not getting any real reps except running the opponents offense against our D. Spring ball is his chance to prove himself. If he gets in any of our games this season things have gone very very badly.

I don't think so. He could have but the two pitchers back then were my dad and Larry Troxel. They could never get past the Aruora Seal Masters. I thought Loren played shortstop. Those were the days.

Gotta think the reason they did not move to Art sooner was his injured shoulder. I think BB mentioned shoulder surgery was planned after Minny game.
Gotta read into a few things here. BP starter, art injured but could come in for relief, maybe hopeful to be temporary. Also have to believe there is a chasm after BP/Art (at least as of summer camp) as surgery could have happened earlier.
I’m assuming staff will come up with a few more wrinkles in the run game to attack Rutgers defense.
But this is how you keep building…one game put in the barge package, another game McCray gets a lot of carries due to chase being out, focus on new plays for Rutgers…in future games when offense struggling, can try out a few things from past weeks.
