Kind of surprising on the tickets website that (A) there is still so much availability and (B) there actually seems to be possibly more unsold tickets on the Tennessee side.
Tennessee made the CFP last year. If you see how much disappointment there was on this board for Illinois falling short, imagine how disappointing a mere bowl game in their own state must be for the Vols.

For sure, and I was actually shocked to see that Tennessee only has about 25,000 alumni in the Nashville MSA. For reference, Illinois has over 220,000 in the Chicago MSA, and even if you adjusted to make the populations the same size, you would expect over 50,000 Tennessee alums. Either way, the number of total Tennessee fans either IN the Nashville metro or within an easy drive absolutely dwarfs our numbers, so even with a dejected fan base, you would expect a bigger turnout than this.

There is something to the "three states of Tennessee," which is even represented by three stars on the state's flag. Each has its own "capital" and distinctive style of music with Bluegrass in East Tennessee's Knoxville, Country in Middle Tennessee's Nashville and the Memphis Blues in West Tennessee.

Yes, and I’ve also heard reference to the low lands (west TN), rolling hills (middle TN), and mountains (east TN). It’s a 7 hour drive across the state and the terrain dramatically changes.

Agreed. Memphis is dominated by Ol Miss fans.

Been watching Tennessee all morning. DANG that offense is good. I think Heupel is a great schemer. Aguilar can get "chucky" when facing 3rd and long so I could see a pick or two if we can get them in that down and distance. I don't see our defense doing much to slow them down.

That being said, their defense is garbage. I think Bielema ensures we junk up the game similarly to the South Carolina matchup last year.

34-31 ILLINI
Their OC, Halzle is solid. Should get at least as much or more credit for the offense. In a few years I’ll bet he gets a HC gig.

It keeps trending much colder. Still a week out, but I was hoping for 50's at least.

It’s an nfl stadium. 70k capacity is a lot for non-playoff game.
Also citrus bowl is 60k for a higher profile bowl game.

In earlier press releases, the word was the Nathan Knapik was getting the majority of snaps at LT. In Carson Gourdie's recent article, it's Aidan Knapik:

Is it really a brother against brother battle for the starting job or was it merely a misprint that Nathan was getting the snaps instead of Aidan?

I thought one of them was still nursing an injury

Tennessee is primary college team here in Nashville. The state as a whole is for the Volunteers except maybe Memphis area.
