I know nothing about UTSA other than what I’ve read on here and a few other places, but I’m not feeling as good as I’d like to going into a noncon game against a non-Power 5 team. Loved the win Saturday and plenty of good things to build on, but could conceivably gone the other way ifnot for two missed PATs, a stupid play trying to field that punt, and several missed Neb passes to wide open receivers. Not rare that a game swings upon a play or several plays, and great to see the Illini come out on the right end. And based on this game and our first look at the BB coached Illini and the discipline shown, I think the O&B can come out on top on more of these games than in the past. But I’m still nervous about the UTSA game.

Hey yall, UTSA fan here. Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I dont have the privilege to start my own. I am heading down to the game from West Michigan and was wondering what is a good lot to have a small tailgate? Are there any lot tickets available? Also, what is the mask policy? Thanks!

Wear your mask in the concourse area (you don't have to at your seat), but of course double check the Illinois football website to be sure since these rules seem to change daily. And you can tailgate in any parking lot you'd like as many others do! Illinois also has an area called Grange Grove where you can carry your tailgating equipment to for hanging out with other fans and enjoying a more party-like atmosphere. You can buy parking lot tickets ahead of time for some of the more desirable spots, but you can also just show up early and get a pretty good spot without paying ahead of time.

Have a friend involved with the program. The word is that Peters has a sprained left shoulder (AC sprain would be my guess), that would keep him out for a couple of weeks.

Not claiming to know everything, but source has always given me reliable info in the past.

Any update on Hart Jr.

Well that would be better than I expected based on how he was holding it.

This would be best-case scenario considering the play. Would make the Maryland game a possibility for his return and Purdue as likely.

This might be overly optimistic but put me down for a 27-17 final.

Sorry, but why would a book allow an option where you're guaranteed to end up ahead? I'm not following.
Sounds like he is In two different books with one taking the the Illini on the spread. Then another bet with Illinois to win, but the parlay is that UTSA covers if I read that right.

I read it as he bet Illinois getting the points vs Nebraska, and on the money line vs Nebraska, and then parlayed Illinois against both Nebraska and UTSA. So he won the first two bets, and needs Illinois to win by more than 6.5 against UTSA to win the parlay.

you cannot parlay the same team two weeks on a row. The line for the UTSA game would not be set before the Neb game.

whatever the bet is he doesn’t automatically come out on top

Papadels had it exactly right. Typically you can't parlay the same team, but since these were week 0 games, the lines were already set for week 1. I had already won both Spread and money line bets for Nebraska game.

Hello Tim Beckman?

Coming off of an emotional win, I’ll be very impressed if we come out with the same energy/focus and put away a good UTSA team like we are “supposed to.” Going into the UVA game 2-0 really opens up an opportunity to start this season with some true momentum. UVA will be tough, especially on the road, but if we can snag that type of game … 6-0 start is shockingly on the table. Won’t get ahead of myself, though, as I’m honestly as nervous for this one as any of them!

Also, I know there is a small chance for rain and the opponent isn’t a big draw, but it’d be nice to see fans buy into this team and get 40k plus, at least, in the stands. We’ll obviously lose the Nebby fans’ numbers (10k? More??), but it’d be nice to offset that with a combination of fans who have started to believe in the team after last week and those that stayed home last week due to the heat. If we can win this one and steal a win at UVA, I’ll be hoping for a very big crowd for Maryland even though it’s a Friday!

I saw very few wearing masks inside. Nobody was policing it either.
