This was a clean block; the Edey stare-down verified it as CH laid on the floor. The stare-down trumps your picture proof.

Don't disagree at all -- which was why it was a killer not to come up with the defensive boards that led to those 3s. I know there were some unlucky bounces, but I'll always take my chances with Ty finding those balls for usTrue, but from Purdue's perspective, hitting 8 out of 10 in the second half from 3 covers up a huge percentage of those 1,000.
That's very true on the rebounding. I am so torn on Ty at the end of the games. If he could make Da'Monte progress from three, I would be happy. If they leave him wide open, he hits it. He has decent form on his free throws now; hopefully, this is the next step.Don't disagree at all -- which was why it was a killer not to come up with the defensive boards that led to those 3s. I was thinking the same...Sencire has the best opportunity to be Smith's kryptonite.Just as a change of pace, I’d like to see DGL in a few possessions to see if he can slow quicker guards. Coach says you are in the game for defense….understand! Please! Damn do we miss SH in that role.
Oscar Tshiebwe is less talented than Edey.
The foul was on Harmon for holding Loyer down by the free throw line:I was thinking the same...Sencire has the best opportunity to be Smith's kryptonite.
Also, why are we not talking about the phantom foul that was called on us at half court when in reality, Smith bounced the ball off his foot? I think we were down 3 at the time... would have been a turnover and chance to cut it to 1 or tie, instead it's 2 made free throws and a 5 point deficit.
20,000?
Oscar is 6'8... what if he were 7'4?
EDIT: That's like almost a foot taller. Oscar is/was most certainly more talented than Edey. A 7'4 Oscar T would've put up Wilt Chamberlain numbers.
20,000?
Did Wilt Chamberlain Really Sleep With 20,000 Women?
In Wilt Chamberlain's 1991 book, 'A View From Above,' the basketball great claimed to have slept with 20,000 different women during his life. Let's check his math on the basketball legend's most famous statistic.www.mentalfloss.com
This is our answer for Fletcher/Hermey
Us getting to the sweet 16 will likely require us beating a top 20 team which haven’t shown we can do. My bracket(s) will not have us in the sweet 16.

Not even going to wait and see who it is? Lunardi has Clemson as a 5 seed… Clemson.Us getting to the sweet 16 will likely require us beating a top 20 team which haven’t shown we can do. My bracket(s) will not have us in the sweet 16.
Is Zach Edey Just Tall?
An analysis of Zach Edey's dominance and whether it's just due to his heightblog.evanmiya.com
Obviously that doesn't measure skill, but it's not just size.

You're entitled to your own opinion, obviously. But if you had just kept reading, you would have encountered this paragraph:Edey is more talented than most other 7'4 guys, absolutely. That's hard to disagree with and I don't. But, that wasn't where I started out. I said he's the least talented NPOY ever. None of those guys they're comparing him to ever got close to sniffing a NPOY award.
Seems worth considering. How good is Edey when we compare him not just to other giants, but to all college basketball players? The answer: Arguably the best we’ve seen in a long time. In my database going back to 2011, Zach Edey in 2023-24 has the highest overall Bayesian Performance Rating of any player. On a per-possession basis, he’s estimated to have a bigger impact on both ends of the floor than any player we’ve seen in college basketball in over a decade. Reasonable people can debate if he’s the best college player in that span, but the point is that he not only stacks up well against other tall centers, he bosses everyone.

Of course those guys are more athletic than Edey and better NBA prospects. But otherwise this is an absolutely preposterous take. Zach Edey is the best player the Big10 conference has seen in a long, long time. Anybody saying it’s just because he’s big and tall is dead wrong. There have been plenty of good 7 footers in college basketball over the past number of years who don’t sniff the production Edey gets. You will never see another player in our lifetime who makes 30 & 10 look ho-hum. As much as we may dislike Purdue & Edey, that kid is 1 of 1.Before the game started last night I was watching a preview of the Spurs featuring Victor Wembanyama. THAT guy is a talented and athletic big. Even Chet Holmgren is a far better athlete than Edey. Is Edey a good basketball player? Yes, but only hecause he is 7'4" and 300#. If he was 6'4" we would all sat not only no, but hell no. He's slow, can't jump, and has no range beyond 6' or so. As they say however, you can't coach height.
There’s an argument to be made that Zach Edey is a more talented player than Oscar Tshiebwe was Oscar was a better athlete & gets the edge as a rebounder but not by a wide margin... Zach is a better passer out of the post & better free throw shooter and probably has better footwork than OT.He's probably the most dominant player in the last 15 years, is what that says. I agree with that 100%.
How does his extremely great Bayesian rating disprove that being 7-4 300lbs is helpful to him as a basketball player?
I still think he's the least overall talented NPOY ever.

See Miznoz and 7'5" Vanover.I really think too many people are salty about Edey being tall to appreciate him as a player. Very rarely do you see him make mistakes, bad plays, or be out of position. Not only is he big but he puts himself in position to use his size to its full advantage. Also that turnaround hook shot is really effective and that's a shot that takes skill. There are other guys that have played college ball at his size and weren't able to do the things that he does.
