Lol. If this board ran the football or basketball team….we would be screwed
To be fair, those same results were achieved under Toepper, Turner, Zook, Beckman, Cubit, and Lovie

Walter's is absolutely purging the illini staff and no 2 cents about it. When he was initially hired I knew there would be some departures but not to this extent. I hate to say this because I loved Walter's but this could turn in a love/hate thing real quick for me.

Wait —— is the sky falling?OMG. We lost the RB coach. Holy crapballs Batman - we're doomed! Run for the hills! Stop, drop, and roll! HELP!
And to whatever extent it's true it's an opportunity.Absolutely purging is a silly statement.
You mean a coaching staff filled 100% with alumni... along with the worst record to go with it.Lol. If this board ran the football or basketball team….we would be screwed
can't we get guys who are really good at both ?Given the NIL world, do great recruiting assistants make as much sense now? Wouldn't it be better to get the best x's and o's coaches?
we now have three openings on the assistant coaching staff - word is he's looking at the coaching ranks inside the NFL and collegeSo any thoughts we might have to take the position. Could BB be looking at an NFL coach.
He doesn’t have the connection Bret has. But I’m confident with what Bret’s building here we’ll have plenty of interested quality coaches.Walter's is absolutely purging the illini staff and no 2 cents about it. Not an unfair point tbh, but I think we're still a very far way from a recruitment being akin to a blind auction.Given the NIL world, do great recruiting assistants make as much sense now? Wouldn't it be better to get the best x's and o's coaches?
Maybe it's just me, but I'm happier having our coaches being hired away to promotions, then I would be with our coaches being fired for underperformance.. It's a good sign that coaches are moving on for promotions. It wasn't a thing at Illinois football for a long time.
