Rutgers 70, Purdue 68 (12/9 Games)

1. I’m fairly sure Sandfort took like 2.5 steps before he put the ball on the floor that last time.
2. Hawks getting good looks; but they can’t knock much of anything down.

I think id prefer Iowa to have won this game.

But, I'll get over it.

Where does our Mulcahy hate come from?
On December 20th last season, during Illinois' loss to Rugers, Mulcahy was doing a lot of flopping, whining and jawing at our players. Being that he has that kind of punchable bratty face, it's super easy to dislike the dude. A few highlight's of his crappy behavior included when he leaped forcefully into Trent which luckily didn't cause injury, and also when Damonte was penalized for clocking Mulcahy in the chin with an elbow, even though it didn't happen. DMW never touched him -- Mulcahy completely flopped and sold it as though he was mugged. Add to that evening some really atrocious reffing, and we all had a bad time watching that game.

For all those lovers of transitive property

Illinois beats Iowa 87-83
Iowa loses to Iowa St 53-73
Oregon State loses to Iowa St 50-60
Arizona beats Oregon State 90-65

hmmmmm

Amazing shot by Harper, and a clutch final minute. But I will say one thing - Harper released that shot with 0.4sec left. Watch the inbound pass here and you’ll notice a delay in the game clock as Harper gets the ball. Probably >0.4sec too. That’s home cookin’ for ya :)

Exact same home cooking happened at the close of the Iowa game. Clock took at least a good full second to start after their last inbounds.

This was way more epic. Especially being a home game for Rutgers, and given how bad Rutgers have been to start the season
Matt Sylvester nailing that 3 with 5 seconds left to keep #1 Illinois from going 30-0 in regular season play feels significantly more epic than recently-crowned #1 Purdue getting beat in week 5 on that buzzer beater. Keep in mind Illinois was #1 since week 5 that year.

Don't get me wrong, 'twas an amazing win, but I respectfully disagree with your assessment.

Totally agree with you. This Purdue team is legit good but no way are they in the same stratosphere as the legendary 2005 Illini team

My son and I were at the ILL-OSU game; don't think we'll ever get over it!
