At what point does JW need to step in and guide BU? I mean this is the central problem with nepotism -- how can you expect a guy to be a boss to his own child in the same way he would be to any other employee who is not performing?

This is a great point. I was down on BU in '23 and deserved the fair criticism. He bounced back in '24, and deserved the accolades.
And now we're back to fair criticism again. I think promoting his son and TA leaving should raise some flags.
And if he's getting paid a ton of money and getting NIL money while making talented players look bad, then BU should be questioned and critiqued about it.
I hope Josh sees this and forces BU to fire his son. BU won't, though.

IMO (50 year fan), we have talent 7-8 deep! We are a young team! We aren't winning crap in the B10!

Cameras panned to Tyler speaking to Brad. Tyler looked to be talking X’s and O’s and Brad clearly said, “WHY?!”…I may be making mountain out of a mole hill, but it just seems like there’s something amiss.
I have a hard time believing he makes significant changes. BU is as stubborn as they come.

At this point, the data is suggesting otherwise. The way the team has looked, they are likely one and done in the tourney (and possibly even the BTT). Unless the team shoots lights out to start game, the team consistently gets down double digits to almost every team. That to me, is squarely on the coaching staff. If the game plan does not change, I don't expect the team to pile together more than 1 win at a time. Yes, the team is getting great looks from 3, but they are missing wildly. Maybe change it up a bit. The ball going through the hoop is contagious. The metrics suggest we are not a good shooting team behing the arc.
It is always the head coach who is responsible. Always.
I was gonna type that exact same thought. Take away the greatest player to ever wear an Illini jersey, and Underwood hasn't done much with his massive contracts. Yeah, I said it.

Our pick and roll defensive philosophy is abhorrent. We're masters at getting on a guards hip and watching them waltz into a layups or fouls by the trailing guard or help defender.

Really hope insider @sharpshot16 was onto something when he said he was hearing positive things about Ty coming back next year. We need more EDGs. We are lacking winners, leadership, and familiarity to Illinois.

Funny how we were losing the last two games and came back via driving and taking good shots at the basket. Imagine if this staff could differentiate the difference. Alas, we must start 0-10 from three every game before we shake it up.
I don’t have the answers but I’d rather miss bunnies at the rim then chuck threes I know aren’t going in. The only positive is Boswell only took one of his parents to step back threes today.
