So fresh and so clean. I guess we'll be watching the NIT selection show to see who we play... I'm guessing we'll be a 2 seed.

Selection Sunday used to be my favorite sports-related day of the year. Now I don't even bother to watch.

I heard we're playing the winner of Naperville North and Wheaton North in the SuperSectional in DeKalb... Neutral Court Game should help our RPI (won't be a bad loss).

I think we'll see Illinois State in our quarter of the bracket, but not first round. Maybe the 2/3 game or they put us 1/2. Either way we'll have to win to even see them which is, umm, not likely?

To Second and Chalmers, wherever he is: the prophecy of the first four was a hoax.

That's a pretty good prediction.

I'm concerned about another Alabama-style beatdown and wondering if we're better off ending the season now. If you're going to fire the coach do you typically do it before the NIT? Anybody have any recent examples at other schools?

A decision will be made before. Whether that is made public right away is up to Josh.

With all the P5 bubble teams that are falling on their faces, and the very small number of Mid-Majors with anything close to a tourney resume, I actually think the committee is going to put ISU in. Not saying whether they deserve it over teams like Vandy or Syracuse, but all things considered, there is plenty of reasons for the committee to toss them an invite over some of the "meh" P5 teams.

Guessing a 3-seed. I think we'll win one, maybe two! Hopefully Malcolm can score 34 more points, which I think will get him to 1,813 and into 3rd place all-time on the career list.

I think they're in if Vandy and Rhode Island lose their opening conference tournament games.

Hope they do make it.

How many B1G teams do yo think the NIT will take.
Seems like there might be 5 candidates, with their kenprom ranking.
47 - INDIANA - like it or not they do have tradition/ name appeal on their side
65 - IOWA - we did beat them twice, but they have nice wins
70 - ILLINI - allegedly fell off the bubble....but lost last two games badly
72 - OSU - "THE" Ohio State travels well, and just over 500
89 PSU - beat us twice and probably a draw for NY based tourney, but under 500

Hopefully they take the top 3.

If every bubble team loses do we stay as last team out? And if we are last out should I buy some popcorn for S & G's on Sunday? Just wondering because that bubble is the weakest I've ever seen.

If Rhode Island loses
Bash me for being overly optimistic but look at espn's bracketology. Right now Joe has ISU as the last team in, followed by Rhode Island, KSU, then us as the next out.

I believe without question we have a better resume than all three of the previously mentioned teams. There may be a .5% chance we are the last team in. With that being said, it should not have come down to this and Groce still has to go.

I know. As much as we don't deserve it, the reality is our 10 top 100 wins is the most of any bubble team and if every bubble team craps the bed then we are back where we were before all the conference tourneys, at the mercy of the committee. I'm sure the committee is BEGGING that a few of these teams win some freaking games!
